I bought it,on vinyl, at a store right around the corner from 1st Avenue back in 1990 or so. I later found it on CD. I was really into techno in the 80's and early 90's so I really loved the mixes. I think it's a really good recording. Miguel MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! I bought the CD-single in 94 when I was stationed as a soldier in Germany.
I remember how surprised I was to find it, as the single for "The Future" was never released in the states. I also remember an article on it where Prince was asked how he liked the remixes and he said, "I couldn't have done it better myself" I'd still like to hear what he would've done with "Electric Chair" by himself, though!!! I've got it, and it's OK, but not among the elite of Prince extended versions/remixes IMO. Prince had very little to do with the remixes on this disc, for one thing. And sometimes that's a good thing..... Miguel MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! We want cigar puffing men that look like they wanna beat the living daylights out of us" Val"sporking is spooning with benefits"

These remixes killed the original versions. P's mixes sound flat compared to these gems. A must must must have CD. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Liked the originals better...the remixes on this disc sound like typical late 80s/early 90s house mixes to me. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/
