What does the line "two 7's together" mean?


I don't get it.

i think it means '77, as in 1977, as in right before his career started to really take off.

You know, that never made sense to me because his first record was released in early 1978 not 1977. How would 1977 be meaningful as career start?

And what does the rest of the text have to do with it? - "like time, indefinite ... try 2 catch the glass before it falls" - huh?

I think the lyrics to this one will remain a mystery for a long, long time.

Mystery is right. It seems like a bunch of unconnected lyrics that I can't make sense of. Plus The melody grates on me. Hmm. So I guess I don't care for it.
