Thanx, that was a great article.
This also re-affirms that Prince did the right thing with this band. Not only are they talented, but they're very intelligent. That intelligence will only compliment their talent more and more. This is an awesome band you guys, we really need to enjoy them while we can!

Thanx for the article.

Prince: "I don't like the drum machine by itself". Bollocks. Most of your classsic drum machine driven tracks don't have any real drums on top of them.

In this article, Prince says he watched Stevie Wonder record drums for his (Stevie's) latest album. Interesting. Meaning he and Stevie must have been in the studio together. Did they record together or did Prince simply drop by for a social call on his old idol? Bet we'll never find out ...

It wouldn't be the first time they've been in the studio together - or worked together for that matter.

Pray tell, what are some of their collaborations? I have a recording of them both live playing "Maybe Your Baby", that's it.

It's cool how JB likes Prince's playing on "Controversy" and how he works hard to "lock in" to that straight quarter beat on the bass drum. JB has a serious weapons stash in his armory but instead of always Neil Peart-ing us he knows how to bring his super power to the basic beats. Of course, P would yell at him if he didn't...but this dummer sez bravo, JB!

True.
(Much like the situation with Lenny Kravitz)
Prince and Stevie have recorded together, but as far as I know nothing has ever
been released. If memory serves me right, they first got together in the studio
around 1994 (after Prince had changed his name). It looked like there might have
been a collaboration on Stevie's 1995 album 'Conversation Peace', but unless
Prince appeared uncredited somewhere it didn't happen. He did collaborate on
a new version of the title track, which was intended for release, but again
it never came out.
