Prince best non-slapping bass playing?

I don't remember this being discussed. All the bass threads are usually about his slapping, whenever he picks up the bass in concert he slaps as well.

Any memorable non-slapping bass moments?

The majority of the Get Wild performances from the 94 shows.
The majority of the Face Down performances from the 97 shows.

Oh, and the bass segue on the Musicology Tour between Let's Work & U Got The Look is fucking inspired too biggrin

Well, if I remember correctly the Face Down performances were all, except for the Larry-like fuzz-tone playing, slapping as well, no?

What did they play bet ween Let's Work and U got the Look? Does Prince play something? Must have added it later on, the shows I know don't have any bass playing by Prince.

Oh, it's true there was some serious slapping during Face Down - but he would knock fuck out of it for 10-15 minutes.
And yeah - the segment with Prince & Rhonda on bass was added to the 2nd leg of the Musicology shows.

The New York show in July would be from the 2nd leg?

"one"-madhouse
you have to listen carefully as it is buried quite low in the mix.but,
this track has some real tasty fingered-bass playing from the man.
