The Prince Vault vs The Tupac Vault

Tupac has a "new" album dropping next week--that makes like 6 or 7 since his death (and a lot of them have been double cd's)...does Prince really have enough quality material to sustain such a posthumous career? Crystal Ball really seemed like he stretching the pot a bit with some of those so called "songs"
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

That's a very good question. He likes to mention it a lot but what can he actually deliver...

No doubt he can! If you count all the unreleased bootleg songs (The Work etc) plus what people say what he has in The Vault...

Man imagine that the vault would be released on cd's good quality....pray

Are you kidding?

There hundreds (at least 500) of circulating unreleased tracks and alternative versions. Add to that about the same not circulating (roughly speaking).

Add to that unreleased stuff recorded post-1996 (details of these years are sketchy since Prince tightened up at PP).

Add to this the scores of unreleased video projects.

Add to this the fact that Prince records all his concerts and performances, and has done since very early on in his career.

Prince has enough locked away to sustain his own post-humous career 10 times over.

The content of 1998's Crystal Ball release is not an indication of how much material Prince has unreleased - it was a shoddy release, with no theme, bad editing and a reliance on more recently recorded material (mid-90s)

Prince definately has enough stuff in the vault to the point that he could retire today and continue releasing music past our lifetime. Bootlegs are proof they exist and apparently Prince has been holding out on releasing the good stuff. He needs to get up off the pot.

Most of the recent songs that were released after his death were sung mostly by other artists. U have 2Pac joining in with one liners here and there it’s not like he’s rapping all the way thru on these songs.

lol

I think this next Tupac album is actually his NINTH (!) posthumous release. And I'm sure Prince has tons of stuff that would make a good album. I'm guessing, by the tracks that have made it to a few of his albums in the place of other, better songs - that he just cannot differentiate between what is a great Prince song, and what is simply good.

those aren't his songs...thats him "guest rapping" on another persons song..meanin they just took a snippet from a pac song and put it on their own,
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

i actually bought the new tupac when it came out, and it is incredible!!! there are about 25 or so new verses, so it isn't fair to say it isn't his album.

also even if you don't like rap try to liten to "don't you trust me". amazing song dealing with a suspicios girlfriend.beautiful. if you like prince you'll like this.

Aw, please. Don't put those two into one sentence, OK?
I love them both very much, but comparing anything about them makes absolutely no sense in my eye.

My opinion is that the records Afeni has released since Pac's death is stuff that he would've never ever put out himself. It's plain and simple a disgusting way of money making to me.

I think Prince has a lot more in his vault than Pac. A lot more GOOD stuff.
I hope and pray the day someone opens the vault won't come too soon neutral
