Okay, I was at HMV, a huge CD chain in Canada in UK (I don't think it's in the US), and I looked at their list of releases, and one was Sign O the Times DVD on December 21! So, I hadn't heard anything about this before, so I asked an employee to confirm it. The only details she had were that it was in widescreen, it was a DVD, and that it was being released by Universal(!!), and so I didn't think this was the crappy Brazillian release.

I looked on Amazon two days ago, and found nothing, but now this is here...

Yet, you fine folks, usually on the ball, have said nothing of this release that I can find anywhere. If this IS a repeat thread, I apologize, but... It was news to me!

yes I believe this will be the first official release in professional quality. I checked this new tranfer, and its the real deal. It will render all bootlegs and pirates moot.

Someone did mention this about a week ago, so i checked the U.K Amazon which doesn't list it and a local HMV who had no knowledge of a release, so not sure what's happening on this side

hate to be a party poop but the earliest you'll see this DVD released is January 4, 2005. And even that date is not looking very likely.

.... i have the 'official' benelux version here, which is total crap, yet for sale in every store -believe me that doesn't happen with bootlegs here- and it's been released by..... alliance/universal...hurrah
