Whether he wins or not(ok-he better get at least two,Grammy Committee biggrin ),it is so wonderful that he has been recognized. It's too bad there's no category for Tour of the Year-they would have to just give it to him anyway-no other artist's shows come close.

Congrats also 2 Alicia,Usher,Jill and Ray Charles(God Bless)clapping

This it true. I really don't want Usher win because I know the chances of P getting nominated for 5 grammies again is slim to none. It looks like P is never going to get his props.

I agree with you and that is extremely sad but I am nonetheless thrilled that Prince got nominated for any Grammy let alone 5.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

You know, I'm so anti-establishment. I hope that Prince tells everyone that he'll show up; they'll give him at least one album; then when it's time for him to accept, he's not there. I love it!! It's classic Prince. A cool way to say FUCK YOU to the powers that be. That's the Prince I know and love. I think it would be so lame for him to show up knowing fully well that the chances of him winning are next to none. He has a better chance at winning for the traditional R&B category but not really anything else. I think that Grammy's are so full of shit. He should just say fuck it and don't show up. That would be great. It was such an embarrassment for him to be asked to perform last year; he tears down the house; and they don't give him the grammy anyway. That was some shady shit and it's time for him to get his revenge...

(Prince peeps what a great year 2004')

that's all that matters.

it ain't ova!

Now ain't that the truth. I feel that if he doesn't win then it is because of the politics of his stance on the music industry and not his ability to make great music. Others make good music but it is shove down your ears so much that is becomes unnerving to hear it. I hope that Prince wins all the catergories that he is in. As much as I love Anita Baker I want Prince to win it all. And then hit us with the new fresh dvd of the Musicology tour cause we need that NOW!!!

Prince's been around longer than alot of these new Artists and he's still going hard. He's written and composed music for others too. I dont think he gets enough recognition for the work he's done. He should get the Best Artist of the Century Award, in my book. Well, that's my biest opinion anyway.

If Usher looks up to Prince as much as he says he does then he needs to exclude himself from those categories where he is up against P because he isn't even in the same league as Prince! he would earn little respect back at least from me if he didn't accept this nomination biggrin

Damn the org and all it stands for if they dont support more than 1 deserving man---
Aren't we all about supporting the outsider, the ignored?
Lets keep that going for people like Al Green and Ray Charles for what they've done for music in general, not just black music, but music as a whole..
Let us not forgot how P will be just as ignored in another 20 or so years when he's al green's age. hmmm
