It was definately the first time I heard Purple Rain.

I had niot heard any thing but 'When Doves Cry' from the soundtrack album , before I went to see the movie.

Therefore when 'Purple Rain' was played the tears went rolling.

Other songs have brought the tears.. but not th first time I heard them. They just became eventually synonomous with certain life changing events or thier beauty simply over whelemed me. Such as 'Sometimes it Snow...', 'Annastesia' , and even though he didnt sing it.. he wrote it..and I simply cannot listen to this song with out remebering the worst heart break I had in life....'Nothing Compares To U'

I think it was just the powerful nature of it, to be honest. Also, it was the joy of finally hearing a proper Prince anthem again, after after all the co-produced, programming by, and additional mixing of a large amount of his 90s stuff.

I cried like a complete baby - that's the effect that pure funk has on me. First my face goes all JB-like, and then I just burst into tears. I'm terrible when I go to the funk clubs.

The entire Rainbow Children Experience to me was such a let down in so many ways, it brought tears to my eyes.

Hehehe. But you mean it to other way around, huh? That was reflection; the line "I was just thinking about my mother" struck a chord in me, having lost my own mother beginning this year.

Purple Rain the first time I saw it performed live by Prince made me bawl!!! It still does to this day, whenever I make someone listen to it, I mean really listen to the words and the guitar, it makes tears come to there eyes to, it's just such a beautiful, soulful, song.SISIA also made me cry the first time, and the Most Beautiful Girl in the World, but only because that's a one of a kind P song, there's nothing dirty about it, it's just so cute, I guess Adore is kinda like that too though. God is also a sad song just because it seems like he puts so much soul into it.
