2004 ends: What was ur personal Prince-highlight this year?

Here are some suggestions:
- release of "Musicology" album
- Musicology tour
- release of "Purple Rain", "Under The Cherry Moon" & "Graffiti Bridge" DVD
- NPG-MC downloads like "The Chocolate Invasion" & "The Slaughterhaose"
- Prince In Hawaii Gift Box
- or something other

My personal highlight was the release of the "Musicology" album, I think.

What was ur personal Prince-highlight in 2004?

Uhmmm. Prince did alot this year, but kept the live stuff limited to the US.

I like the fact he keeps releasing stuff. Even though they be throw aways often, but still songs like Magnificent etc are great interludes.

seeing him on the Grammy's this year, and singing along with him, and having my younger cousins ask me "who's that white guy with Beyonce'?" classic. i couldn't even begin to explain the man to them. i just laughed and told them to "stfu."

RRHOF is my personal highlight. His performance was amazing.
But it was also nice to see so much of him this year.
He was on talk show after talk show, magazine after magazine- and of course the tour. (I was able to catch 8 shows)
It was definitly a great year to be a Prince fan cool

For me there was a bunch of highlights but none that I waited 17 years to see so the Tavis perfomance with Wendy wins hands down.

An historic & memorable day - Prince performs 'Reflection' on the Tavis Smi...

Unlawfully taking that dude's camera, and then countersuing him when he wanted his camera returned to him.

Man where do I begin:

The Grammy's
RRHOF
The Tavis Smiley show with the performance with Wendy
All the TV apperances
Musicology the Album
Musicology the Tour
The downloads

The whole year was memorable and easily the best in many years. This was a GREAT year to be a Prince fan.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Definitely the two concerts--June 2 & Sept 9 or 10 (I forget, it was Friday though)

Second would be seeing him take over MTV VH1 & BET, though it was all too brief.

HUGE CO-SIGN!

March 29th, June 30th, August 27th & 28th, were GREAT highlights as well, but this simple little performance, still stands out the most.

As well as being my favorite song on the album, still... after 8 months.

Now that Grammy thing... that was crap. I know it helped his year, but it would've been much better without Beyoncé's Tina Turner impersonation.

and too all of a sudden-- had i been gettin some horny, i would've missed it-- he was all over the place-- seeing him in the forefront after my friends have been doggin' me all these years was definitely satisfying.

Musicology tour live handsdown one of the best experiences ever experienced by an able-eared person bow

1. Going to my first Prince concert on August 13

.....thinking about that day is making me tear up a bit now cause I remember

back in 2001 I told my brother going to a Prince concert was one of my goals in

life and we agreed that it would probaly never come true but then BOOM! 2004

and Im drivin to DC during a hurricane in the worst traffic jam of my life

all for the love of my man and his music

2. Hearing my best friend (an admitted Prince hater) say that he loved the

Musicology CD I gave him from the concert and him forcing me to listen to

"Dear Mr. Man " over and over again (even though I dont like it) because as he

put it "This song is the truth! I love it!"
If you will, so will I

My 2004 personal prince highlights:

*The Musicology release party at Webster Hall in NY. Not only was I there, but he walked right by me to get to the stage and I got to stand right at the stage for the show. He was right in front of me for the whole show! That was AWESOME!!

*Seeing the concert 9 times, including flying from NY to San Jose to see the last 2 shows of the US leg of the tour. The trip was awesome, something I never thought I would do.

*Seeing him on television so many times. He was everywhere and everyone was talking about him.

*Meeting so many wonderful people. Prince fans are the nicest people. I have made some great friends who will be in my life for a long time! biggrin

From Afar: The Grammy's, with the RRHOF a tick behind. The Grammy's gets the edge because it got everybody talking again and created a huge buzz. It was such a momentum boost that, as well as Prince did this year, he could have been even huger with a couple of smarter marketing moves (Musicology the album could have sold a million or more copies more if Sony/Columbia had tried a little harder or promoted it just a little more)

Up Close: Prince from the third row in Columbia SC. I was on the damn side, which pissed me off but the man came over to our side several times. I had good seats at Prince shows before but never that close. I got to see all those weird ass facial expressions he makes when he plays guitar up close! Surreal and totally awesome.

Traveling to Bossier City, Louisiana to see the concert with friends. Riding in the back of her Explorer, drinking all the way up there, and stopping at every other exit to piss.

Checking into the motel, drinking some more. Going to the concert, having a ball, waiting for the accoustical set so I could take a piss break. Pissing in the parking lot waiting for someone to let us back up. Watching two girls throw up in the parking lot because they had too much to drink. Remembering my friend driving her Explorer over the grass because the cars were not moving out of the parking lot and we had been sitting there for an hour and a half.

Going back to the motel. Drinking some more and bitching because there was no aftershow in Bossier City.

Riding that long bumpy ass ride back to Mississippi in the back of that Explorer. Calling in sick the following Monday morning because I had a hemmorhoid from the bumpy ass ride. We will definately take the Cadillac the next time. lol

Anyway, it was a damned good time!

Both concerts here in Dallas were incredible. This was a resurgent year that I had always hoped for but never truly expected.
