Does Prince "do" the Protege thing anymore? I know he has fostered some of his relationships from years gone by (Sheila E. for instance) but does Prince outright nurture any new talent under his wing anymore?

I think the last one was Millenia, a goody-two-shoes girl group, but besides doing backing vocals on some TRC tracks, I don't think they ever released anything with Prince's input.
Then there was that Eminem look-i-like, his name escapes me - and I don't think they did anything besides him appearing at PP a few times (and certainly nothing has been released - THANK GOD). And of course, the 'Fonky' Baldheads, Kirk Johnsons band, Prince contributed a track to them, but I don't think they had anything else to do with Prince, and I think the relationship between Kirk and Prince is frosty now (he was hocking some Gold records on Ebay a while back). And I think that's it for the late 90s/00s, before that there was the Larry Graham GCS200 album (shudder) and the under-rated Come 2 My House with Chaka Khan.

Why do I get the feeling that Prince is more like Larry's protege than the other way around... "How embarrasing to be human!"
