"What'd he just say, there?"

Hey!

We've all come across 'em - Prince lyrics or ad libs that we just can't understand. They're not on the lyric sheet, and more often than not, they're so low in the mix that they hardly qualify as a lyric at all.

Well, maybe we can help each other out! biggrin

This thread is dedicated to deciphering your favourite Prince "say what's?". If you've got one, post it here! If you've got an answer to one, do likewise! And maybe we can lay to rest some lyric questions that've been burning for years!

Here's mine:

In U Got the Look, right before the "Well, here we are - ladies and gentlemen" part, Prince mumbles something, and the closest I can figure is, "there's no jokin' you", but that can't be right...

Any ideas?

If UR serious, and UR probably not, after he says "ladies and gentlemen", he says "The dream we all dream of bpy versus girl in the world series of love."
Now don't y'all tease me if this joker is messin' around.

That comes after the "Ladies and gentleman," this person is talking about something that comes before he says that.

I always thought the first line of Gett Off was:
(excuse my tone)

"I hear the pussy's in the way so as not to offend your new girl"

I've never really taken the time to find out what hes sayin but
I guess it'd be nice to know
If you will, so will I

"How can I put this in a way so as not to offend or unnerve."

That's what I always thought it was.

He says

Even though your line was much more titillating horny, kidsgirl.
