Whatever became of this "Hard Life" movie that Prince made? OK, so I was reading about this movie that Prince made called "Hard Life". I believe it was around the time Prince was heavily involved with Madhouse and stuff. From what I understand, Miles Davis, as well as Prince's other colleagues (Eric Leeds, Jill Jones, Brooks, Safford, etc.) were in it too. And Prince even had Madhouse provide the soundtrack. So whatever happened to this movie?
Will Prince ever release it or shall it forever be confined to his vault like his many other homemade projects? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

i doubt it will ever be released, but it would be fun if it were. i don't remember miles being in it, though prince's dad was in it. you can find this circulating around in the purple underground - it's really not a great little film, but it's interesting to see all the princely proteges acting goofy. plus it's the only filmed recording of madhouse that i'm aware of.

Seen this once a ways back. I thought it was pretty cool -- loved the whole Madhouse theme and music. Was this meant to be released?

Who's John Waters? You've heard of the movie/play "Hairspray", right? John Waters wrote and directed the movie - he also played the psychiatrist with the hypnosis stick who tries to "cure" that girl of dating a black guy, and says "think of all the nice white boys in the world...and how much you'd like to date one!"

Hopefully it's buried in the vault. You didn't miss a damn thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

imagine "under the cherry moon", set at paisley park, in color, starring the Squirrelmeat Kids from the SOTT tour instead of prince and jerome.
it's cool to see just to check out footage of madhouse and p's dad, and it's nice to see jill jones doing something more than pouting at prince in the background, but it's not one of those things you wanna watch over and over again.

I would sure love to see this. Oh yeah, and it wasn't Miles that was in the flick, it was Prince's dad. [can't ask for it, sorry!--Dansa] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
