hmph!

check it out: if you were an old-skool orger and/or a prince geek/geeklette, you'd get pretty damn annoyed at the quadmillionth asking of "what's the tracklist for (insert name of whatever unreleased thing here)?" or "is prince gay?"

even if the search function was actually functional (for once), we'd be beatin folks upside their heads with it. chair

you're still new 'round here...once you've been here for a while, then you'll come to realize that that oft-said adage is totally moot, 'specially around here.

I posted something without realizing that the diehards had already been there and done that. (You can't put nothing past this bunch. biggrin) Which is good because I always know that someone here will know the answer to anything Prince-related.

Uptown Deb, fu@$ 'em. Orgers expect us to remember every single damn thread. I think not. If you have to repeat yourself then so be it. There is no humiliation in that. Is everyone with me..... boxed

Hell no! I for one come here less these days due to all the same threads posted week after week. It gets old real quick. Some folks don't mind though, Borisfishpaw has a whole load of stock answers he's prepared somewhere on his computer that he regularly copies and pastes and churns out to newbies. Either that or he's a complete madman that loves typing the same things over and over!

Yeah everyone, remember Prince.org. isn't about learning. It isn't about love, peace and all that Prince stands for. Oh yeah, I forgot it's about humiliating new members and their previously addressed questions.(you must be psychic to be in the Prince.org)

Girl,

you're right. I was just feeling a little sensitive. I'm fine now. I just played Alexa De Paris and it's all good. I have to defend my babies.(newbies).

I've been a fan since the beginning and things always seem to pop up. I just bought the Sexy Dancer 12" and I didn't know that there actually is a long version. Duhhhh!!!! I guess since I have everything else I assumed it was the album version. He used to do that a lot. The 7" would be an edited version of the album version and the 12" would be the album version. Are there any other 12" I should worry about. I'm aware of stuff like LETS WORK (different towards the end), LITTLE RED CORVETTE (dance version) and of course AMERICA and all those other 80's songs. Help!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. I've been a Prince fan since 1979 and I didn't know the "Sexy Dancer" 12 Inch existed until about three or four years ago. I first learned what a 12 Inch was when "Let's Work" came out and I heard it on the radio. I knew that was not the version that was on the album so I bought the 45 thinking that the extended part was maybe Part II on the B Side.

I shopped in the record store so much back then that I had become friends with the employees and they hipped me to what a 12 Inch was. Hell, I shopped at that store so much that one of the employees would let me use her 10% employee discount. biggrin

MIGUELGOMEZ I get what you mean. I understand your point too, Marrk. When I see a thread that asks something typical like, "So how did you become a Prince fan" I sorta assume it's someone new who's doing the asking. So while it's old news to the us, it's new news to the inquirer, or any fairly new org member.
