What I'd like to see for the next release... I'd like to see some ol' P Funk. Prince Funk. I wanna see some of that 1983-85 shit again. Can I get a witness? Break it down, P. Break it down fo' ya old-school motha funkers.

those days are long gone - can't remember the exact quote but i read someone saying Outkast's Hey Ya was the track Prince had been trying to write for 10 years. Andre 3000 has that bit of Prince in him, just as Prince has that bit of Sly Stone in him. How long we been waiting for new Sly Stone funk?? It's not going to happen like the old days.

That dude ain't Prince. WTF? Break it down, Prince. Break it down. Take one week, channel that ol's shit, and break it out on wax, yaknowwhatI'msayin? And don't charge $100 for that album and some horseshit poster.

Wanna see 83-85 era again? Then break out those cds and videos and reminisce your ass off because it's probably not going to happen again. I'd like to see Sly make another Riot, Stevie make another Innversions, Joni make another Court and Spark, Rolling Stone make another Exile...etc. etc. Artists almost never revisit eras beyond their creative peaks. Personally, I'd much rather have the sessions from those (and other) eras released than Prince go back into the studio with the intent to create something like it was 1985.

it'd be nice to see some of that '83-'85 stuff, since retro music is coming back, but i know that won't happen. but he can still create some brand new shit with some drums, keyboards, and geetaws. i'd LOVE to hear the ol' linn drum machine again. that'd be LOVELY. something else experimental. What was Musicology all about? i heard it and was like "OK P, everybody knows you can do R&B, so what are you trying to prove??" . i want to see some electric geetaw, crazy ass keyboard riff, space funk. Hopefully, Musicology is just something he wanted to get out of the way. GlamSlamKid...The resident clown on Prince.orgy

I'd rather hear the 82-86 sounding stuff from 82-86 rather than any sound-a-like stuff from the present.
I'm happy to go on collecting the new releases out of habit and the occasional spin, but really it's just the older stuff I listen to regularly. I really do hope we get the Vault stuff in not too distant future - untampered. Remasters, and Vault stuff, that would be a dream - or at least some new circulating out-takes

Unfortunately, the only way I see that happening is when he starts releasing some more stuff from his vault, which i wouldn't mind a bit, and at least it'd be true to the era it was written.
