Where were you when you heard "Work That Fat" for the first time?

In my little computer room, listening to NewPowerRadio, when it came on out of the blue. biggrin

In the parking lot of some television studio when I was waiting to see the taping of the Vibe Show that Prince was on that I eventually didn't get into. Some dude was out there selling boots and was playing some on a stereo.

Back when Napster was still illegal.

I found it extremely offensive. For a man who's probably spent years being ridiculed for being short, I thought it was strange he would make fun of large people. I mean, yeah, fat people CAN excercise and "work that fat off", but it doesn't help that we make fun of them. Not good. Not good at all.

I'm surprised he didn't make a song for us asians saying "Open 'em slant eyes" or some F@cked up shit like that.

Incidentally, do you think "Work That Fat" was intended as a kind of sequel to "Bob George"? They kinda sound like the same character.

When I turned 16, my father sat me down and gave me my own Sonny T. to cruise Plymouth with, and a tape with this song on a loop. Sonny and I listened to it over shots of rubbing alcohol whilst completely nude (In a platonic sort of way).
