Traveling to Bossier City, Louisiana to see the concert with friends. Riding in the back of her Explorer, drinking all the way up there, and stopping at every other exit to piss.

Checking into the motel, drinking some more. Going to the concert, having a ball, waiting for the accoustical set so I could take a piss break. Pissing in the parking lot waiting for someone to let us back up. Watching two girls throw up in the parking lot because they had too much to drink. Remembering my friend driving her Explorer over the grass because the cars were not moving out of the parking lot and we had been sitting there for an hour and a half.

Going back to the motel. Drinking some more and bitching because there was no aftershow in Bossier City.

Riding that long bumpy ass ride back to Mississippi in the back of that Explorer. Calling in sick the following Monday morning because I had a hemmorhoid from the bumpy ass ride. We will definately take the Cadillac the next time. lol

Anyway, it was a damned good time!

For me, it was him pointing to me at the "Musicology" concert in Auburn Hills, then me pointing back at him, and him blowing me a kiss. That one's going with me to the grave!! lol

omfg That's awesome!

My personal highlights for Prince in 2004 are:

1) Prince getting inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame, and meeting up with some orgers to watch the simulcast of Prince's induction at the R&R Hall of Fame right here in Cleveland, Ohio. Of course, Prince's sizzling guitar solo was another great highlight!

2) Having the chance to see the Musicology tour twice, the first time in Cleveland on April 17, and the second time in Auburn Hills, Michigan on July 31, with The Time as the surprise opening act!

3) Prince being on TV, in magazines, seemingly everywhere! It was great, and it almost felt like 1984 all over again!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

For me there was a bunch of highlights but none that I waited 17 years to see so the Tavis perfomance with Wendy wins hands down.

An historic & memorable day - Prince performs 'Reflection' on the Tavis Smi...

I think I'll go with that one too cool

The whole year was great! Personal highlight: finally getting to meet and talk with Prince! Other hightlights: being front and center at the House of Blues and Fillmore shows, seeing the joy on my little girl's face after she got to dance on stage with Prince at the Staples Center, visiting Paisley Park again!

Okay, this was a great year to be a Prince fan.

My favorite:

In NYC, his second show at the Garden when Morris Day and the Time opened up and then, his duet with Sheila E. for Controversy. Miss E. received about a 3 minute standing ovation!

Also his "booty shaking ode" to Beyonce was hilarious!

Purple Rain was one of his encores - it was pouring rain that night and while Prince belted out one of the most heartfelt OHHHHH - the whole crowd opened their umbrellas and waved them side by side in unison in homage to Prince. He was touched - at least I thought he was - as he stepped back and look all around the Garden at the swaying umbrellas saluting him!

Also while I was waiting to get into the concert - my fellow Prince fans. How lovely you all are! We are the most considerate group of folks and beautiful in all shades, sizes, age, and personalities! The conversations, the jokes, and the love!

The June 18, 2004 Friday night aftershow at Paisley Park.touched

It holds a special place in my heart.

Oh yeah, and the whole Minny visit was great. All the cool Prince fans I met, and the running around with no sleep and standing in line for hours.
Loved it all.

Really it's to many to mention.

I'm just glad that this was a banner year for Prince and the Band. They've worked so hard and deserved so much respect over the years and got none.

This year, BOOM!!!!! They blew everybody away from the Grammy's to the last San Jose Show and everything in between.

This my friends was a good year to be a Prince Fan.

Now, if only he'd slip in a DVD before, Christmas, I'd be tooooo Happy or even a New Year's Eve concert.

But really, I can't ask for much more. I'm very Thankful cool

My personal Prince highlight was getting to see him twice this year, almost 3 times. I saw him in San Jose (where I live) and in Oakland. Oakland was awesome because THE TIME opened up for him. EVERYONE WENT NUTS. I was going to see him again the 3rd time in San Jose again but just wasn't able to. I can kick myself because Nika Costa opened up for him. LOVE HER.

I don't understand why so many people hate this performance. I thought it was awesome. They turned it into a church revival. I'm glad he chose someone that's talented to sing with him.

I would say seeing him live like 9 times this year, in all the HOB performances, here and in vegas as well as the concerts, and the press conference peformance, the live feed from the first LA show, but I love this Tavis Smiley performance. Gotta go with this too.

Although, hearing The Love We Make live in Vegas HOB was pretty damn cool.

Last year I would have said the live instrumental show at BB Kings at Universal Hollywood after the DVD Screening. The played mostly N.E.W.S.

Seeing him live at the Grammys and then the same night at the House of Blues
Going to Cleveland to the RRHOF Museum to see him inducted.
Three Detroit Musicology concerts ESPECIALLY the one where he invited my dad onstage to shake a tailfeather--all by himself!

Seeing Prince live was a blessing. I bought my first album in 1979 which was his second LP.

For him to still be here doing his thing and for me to still feel the magic literally bought tears to my eyes.

I would say everytime I read, heard or saw Prince this year was a special moment because it's been so long.

I am truly grateful for his presence on the music scene I have literally grown-up with him!

And posting to this board has been special too because even though I may not agree with everyone here I am HAPPY that others share my passion for Prince's music.

MUSICOLOGY 2004-FOREVER!!!!

Getting so excited about getting to see the tour and having NPGMC members' seating....only to find out the tour wasn't going to be coming even remotely close to me. sigh

Seriously, overall this was a great year to be a P. fan, but that's the thing that'll stick out most for me. neutral

So I still have yet to see a concert. neutral
