Reflections

I've seen the performance on the Tavis Smiley Show that's available on AOL. It seems to me that some of the guitar medley sounds a bit like The Cross from SOTT. Does any1 else hear what I'm hearing and agrees?

Can't feed guerillas. Left-wing guerillas
Go 2 the zoo but U can't feed guerillas
Who wanna blow up the world.

Love the song but am always perplexed by the lyric,
"nice to know when bodies wear out you can get another"
That would be nice then I guess there'd be no death but since it's not possible what is he talking about?

That part is about reincarnation. You will get another body in the next life. that's why he sings later: I was just thinking about my mother

OK but does any1 agree about the guitar parts in "Reflections" and "The Cross" sounding alike?

Don't know about "Reflections", but the "Reflection" and "The Cross" guitar parts don't sound anymore alike than any other songs that are played with strummed chords.

i think that 'reflection' contains an 'A sus' chord. This is prominent in the song 'the cross'. Also, The acoustic sound of both songs probably adds to the similarity you hear.

Actually JWs do not believe in reincarnation. Prince is referring to a "resurrection" which is promised in the bible. When Jesus was raised, he was still the same person, but with a new body.

o00o0o00o...but when u think about it whats the difference? reincarnation u die and come back in a new body.ressurection...coming back from the dead and since u said it..in a new body...the only difference i can tell between the two is that reincarnation rebirths u until u reach you reach your higher self and all that.
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

That's actually a big difference. Resurrection has nothing to do with bringing you back as someone else with some sort of new and improved "station" in life.
Also, the resurrection P is referring to is the one mentioned in Revelation 20:12,13 and Luke 23:43. wink

I kind of thought it what was a comment on plastic surgery, cloning human bady parts... etc. I interperted his tone as negative or not interested.

Maybe I should be picking up my bible? maybe not.
