Prince is mad I don't mean anyone to have anguish but Prince is best when he's mad/upset. Proof:

Proof that when he's really happy, we are not: The Arms of Orion, Graffiti Bridge (the song, not the album), Walk Don't Walk, Gold, We Gets Up, the 3rd track from NPS (so bad I don't even want to remember its name), Make Your Mamma Happy, Baby Knows, lots of Musicology Someone go let the air out of his BMW's tires so we can get some better music on the way! In general, I agree. When you're fired up, you right fiery songs. When you're happy, you right sappy ballads to your loved one.
However, I don't see how you can put Walk Don't Walk in the happy variety. It is about refusing to follow society's rules. | |

I forgot to add The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. All-time worst Prince song. At first I thought it was a joke, then the song ended and that was it. I like Prince best when he's off on a tangent, a la Joy in Rep., Illusion Pimp, Rainbow Children, Temptation, Venus de Milo. Let the rain come down | |

"Fuck U" from Had U. Sounds mad to me.
Not necessarily mad but depaired. During the Rave years I got worried when he voiced his dislike of songs in minor key. Those are the best! I'm not 100% on the mark. I can thunk of lots of happy songs that are great: Let's Go Crazy, Play in the Sunshine, Housequake, Can't Stop, Batdance, Willing and Able, I Will, etc. Let the rain come down | |
