Lovesexy Dortmund '88

After all these years, i just watched the Lovesexy concert in Dortmund '88 again,
i still looove this concert, (maybe cause i love lovesexy so much) but (and maybe this has been on the forum before) sometimes i don't understand what's live and what's not.... isn't there a drummachine/tape playing at most parts of the concert? And at the end of 'Let's go grazy' Prince's throws away his guitar, but the guitar playing stills goes on.... how does this work?

Lovesexy is still the one, and I still think this is the greatest show ever profesionally filmed. To answer your 2 queries...

Whenever Sheila is not behind the drums, it's a drum machine.

At the end of "Let's Go Crazy," as Prince throws the guitar, he didn't turn the volume off. What you're hearing is reverb.

Many of the official videocassettes can be found on ebay along with the occasional out of print Laserdisc. Videocassettes are PAL only.

It's also mainly drum machine for a few tunes that she is sitting at the kit. She just plays cymbals for When Doves Cry and 1999.

I always loved the intro to IWBYL on this performance.

The DVD rip was recently placed on ABMP, having only ever had the VHS, and not seeing it in years, I got it and burned it pronto! biggrin
