Promotion is everything
I just received a QuickTime Newsletter from Apple and there is a huge promo on U2 new album, with signed I Pods and such. Newspapers and websites here are already talking about it. And everytime U2 releases an album, there are huge promo stuff on Cd stores. This way, it´s almost impossible to an album to be a fiasco. Because people get naturally curious.
I have a feeling that people will enjoy Cinnamon video at MTV. Maybe the teenagers wont like the 80s style of rock, but I think the art direction will make some of them at least see Prince with other eyes. Some guitar players will enjoy the solos too. And those more into politics will probably appreciate the lyrics.

i feel that they are adding this video because it is just like Eminem's video and they had no other choice to do it since they added Em.

So they finally got the balls to add the video in their playlist!! When I voted for the video in the TRL write-in a few days ago, I wrote that "it's a shame that MTV doesn't have the balls to play Prince's latest video." I guess, they got the message!! Now, I hope to see it soon!!

MUSIQUE and RELIGION go 2gether. Prince uses his musical talents 2 talk 2 ppl. Always did. Now he is letting out his personal feelings, concerning politics and religion bcome more prevalent. If one doesnt agree, u need not 2. But its his right 2 let it out. Just like it was his right 2 sing the more dirty lyrics, which NOT everyone went along with either. No matter what an artist writes, it will be critiqued in some way. Prince, is very open minded with sex, love, religion, and now politics, as in cinnamon girl. He always liked the controversy and still does. It would B wrong 2 stifle his being able 2 create these songs. This is part of his genius coming thru. Its getting lots of attention...GREAT...Just what HE wants. I admire that & all the other controversial but intelligent things he does...like the cds that have been given out at the concerts. cool wink You go PRINCE. LOVE U.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

That's cool that Mtv is FINALLY adding Prince's "Cinnamon Girl" to the list, but I have to admit thet Eminem's new video "Mosh" is has a more POWERFUL message, and it's already getting heavy rotation.(also it uses the real performers in an painted/cartoon world.)!

SPANKING NEW ADDITIONS
1. John Mellencamp "Walk Tall"
2. Prince "Cinnamon Girl"
5. U2 "Vertigo"

What is this, the 80's or something?????

I'd say that's a good indication of how uninspired today's muzak is...enough for people to want to hear from 80's artists. Man do i sound like an old geezer of what?! I love it and can't stand the garbage out today. There isn't an artist in the top 20 today that will be anything more than a fading one night stand memory in ten years.

Not that it may mean much here, but Eminem's new song MOSH sounds like complete garbage, the music behind it is utterly horrible, and the video is awful as well. How am I to believe a multi-millionaire artist who still boast as angrily as he does on that song, it sound so insincere.

Will EmpTV require princew to show up on TRL to promote the song? Imagine how that would go over!!!

I haven't...honestly it's hard to watch MTV-aside from the usual blah bands- but the worst part is the long commercial break. I can't last that long thru 10 commercials without changing the channel for good.

CynicKill

Prince's video and Eminem's give two different messages and are effective in their own way. Em's will probably speak more to the youth though.

Uh....89flowers...this is just MY opinion, but eminem's anger in Mosh video is in where his country is at this present time, and the administation that is to blame. and as for the music that you call "utterly horrible"(which is YOUR opinion)It is currently 1# on internet downloadible music videos, and 1# on Mtv's video countdown...which means...Millions and Millions of people beg the differ!
