I wouldn't say it's the creepiest moment, but the scream toward the end of Somethin' In the Water (Does Not Compute). I love it when he does this - makes you "hold on to your wig".
I think the creepiest Prince moments were the entire video Violet the Organ Grinder, the Master Cap with those gold chains on it (EEEEEK!) and particularly: A part of the Prince book "Controversy" (unauthorized), when he talks about his sanity, and unconvincingly (supposedly) says, "There was a time when I was going made with all this stuff happening, and it was making me ill. But that was before I changed my name. They said I'm gone insane. Now I'm not crazy. I know I'm not crazy." Also the entire interview with Prince and Oprah. Again, LOVING it for what it is, there's also a painfully obvious attempt to avoid talking about the serious stuff that was going on. I think this might have been the start of Prince realizing that he wanted to talk about stuff. He mentions in the interview that "he took someone through therapy", but could it have been the same person that he discovered inside him, the female side, that they "couldn't determine the sex of...." ooooo-eeeee-ooooo!

When you hear Carson's explanation of that day, you can tell that he still doesn't get it.[/quote]
Carson Daly just reminds me of a vacuous blonde - can someone say male bimbo?

Why the hell does he keep rubbing his nose? does he have a cold or something?
Very interesting. People that are doing cocaine often rub their nose. It's a fidgety thing. Their high and don't know what to do with themselves or their hands. There's a moment in the Prince & Rev. Live video, during Delirious, when he is rolling around on the stage, and it looks like someone is handing him something on his finger. He takes it and bits it off with his teeth. I wonder if that could have been some sort of substance, like maybe an acid tab or some kind of stimulant. There's really no way any of us will ever be able to know what he did or didn't take, because he keeps that stuff so secretive, that the only way someone can find out the truth other than what he wants us to know is to release an unauthorized bio on him.

THere are definitely a few--
the sped down voice on the rainbow children album-- it just cut into my vibe w/ the weirdness... Most of the hairstyles in "under the Cherry Moon"-- everything besides when she sees him at her house--- How pastily white he looks when he does the split during IWD4U in Purple Rain How ill at ease he seems kissing Appollonia in the movie Ill be back Dynamic Savior Said: Also, do you think that ugly people are God's cruel joke on humanity (like the platypus and the heterosexual) or another form of population control?

I find this really interesting, how many people find Prince "creepy".
I saw Sheila E. on 'The Martin Short Show', and she said the same thing when asked; "yeh, He's a weird guy!" Whether it's all just a show i dunno, funny how he seems pretty unweird at the moment:-D The talk of drugs and Mental illness doesn't really ring true. I think he's just an eccentric genius, he's very well in my mind to be so energetic and prolific with his music. But i may be wrong, just my opinion poetbear68 said: There's really no way any of us will ever be able to know what he did or didn't take, because he keeps that stuff so secretive, that the only way someone can find out the truth other than what he wants us to know is to release an unauthorized bio on him.
But even then it could be a crock of shit. To be Prince would be pretty creepy; I couldn't imagine / comprehend what it would be like ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ...

This has indeed been an interesting thread - it reveals such a variety of responses to the word "creepy" which no one has attempted to define directly - like "weird" it has generally negative connotations (which in itself is clearly a plus for some ). But what's the flipside? The thing that makes something "edgy" or "original" (positive qualities?) as opposed to creepy and weird.
I think Prince once said himself - maybe in the Oprah or Beautful Strange interview that weird is all relative - and that it all seems perfectly normal to him... (I was almost convinced...) Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

Good response....simple for me...creepy = makes your skin crawl...great exchange of thoughts on this thread! I expect that is indeed where the word "creepy" comes from - a metaphor for feeling like something is creeping over your skin (like a bug or "creepy crawly") - giving that crawling skin sensation - hmmm ...do creepy things bug you? Sorry this is not an etymology discussion (or indeed an entomology one !!) OK I'll stop now But again what's the difference between the good goosebumps and the bad ones?! (nearest emoticon to "goose")... [Edited 11/3/04 17:17pm] Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

When they were performing We Are The World one year at the American Music Awards. He just stood their licking a lollipop & then pushes it in Quincy Jones face offering him some, when he passed him the mike to sing along. That was not only creepy to me i thought it was strange & hilarious.
