Any1 else here? A very underrated song. This along with wasted kisses, come on, and the one makes nps an album that doesnt get enough credit around the org. i will always back this album to the following haters. (Insert something clever here)

I had this really nice melody stuck in my head this afternoon. I eventually figured out that it was Until Your In My Arms Again, and immediately thought, but that's one of those NPS throwaways! Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

on the NPS C.D. my joints where The One Shoo BED Doo Come On And Mad sex until your in my arms again was too sappy for me

My favorite part of this (admittedly cheesy) song is this:
I'll never see like the others see....I know you gonna come right back to me...
on the chorus towards the end. For some reason the harmonies there and the way he sings those lines makes me all gooey inside. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

The reason why I thought NPS sucked mellons was because of the production. The tunes are good enough. Compare "Somebody's Somebody" from "Emancipation" to the live studio bootleg: same song, totally different vibe and impact.
Now imagine Prince & Wendy on guitar playing "Untill you're in my arms again"....and then Claire Fisher kicking in with full orchestration... "In Funk We Thrust" - Bootsy Collins

I noticed recently that the melody in this is a lot like the opening piano riff in Joni Mitchell's "Blue". Probabyl a coincidence.

what always made this song stand out to me is the lyrics, its obvious its about princes son, which makes it really sad! "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

This is a hot song. Really pretty and I like it. Surprinsingly so because I usually cant get into sappy songs but with Prince I always think again. &

Great song, Great CD! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Now imagine Prince & Wendy on guitar playing "Untill you're in my arms again"....and then Claire Fisher kicking in with full orchestration... I think that´s a great idea...A lot of his 90´s output isn´t getting near as much credit as it deserves. And the production plays an often underestimated and overlooked role. Your example is on point. Some of those songs could sound great if revisited by Prince and his current band or any other interesting lineup.Imagine Prince and Eric Leeds and John BLackwell or Sheila, or Wendy, Lisa and Renato or Morris revisiting some of those songs. Except for some particular songs from that era that I really can´t listen to ( Push it up. I like Funky Music, We Gets Up, etc. etc) a lot of NPS/Rave era songs could sound much more interesting...even during that much debated phase of personal hardships he still was capable of coming up with some great melodies. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Does it sound like the version on the b-side to The Holy River ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the one that BeauFunk is talking about...I think it's called livestudio mix or something? Anyway, I agree totally with you, BeauFunk - that track right there shows that Emancipation could've actually been the definitive artistic statement he apparently envisioned if only he had tried to avoid sounding like he was locked in a box and playing with himself. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I hate this song.....mega embarrassing! Prince falcetto ballads sound wrong to me! Particually on this track...yuck! Corn ball factor higher then Milli Vanilli's "girl I'm gonna miss you" or New kids on the block "I'll be loving u forever"!!!

Yep, the 'live' version is what I was referring to. Anywayz, I think that the whole production of NPS was a very deliberate choice on Prince's part. I'm not sure what he was aiming for, but his productions are never a chance affair. Whether to sound like "Kiss", "Computer Blue", "Hot Thing", "Glass Cutter" or the horrible sound of NPS: it's all deliberate. I'm sure that NPS would be a lot better if played by the current line-up. Don't you get it, it is a personal song. How else is he going to express his pain...man dude, get a heart... "A united state of mind will never be divided

I don't like the song and "i'll be loving you forever" is more personal to me.....like I care if it's personal to him, after all it's only a love song! All i care about is if it's good and if it touches me in some way! A song with that horrible worse then Bee gee like falsetto is just crap! He goes way overboard on this one!
