The Power Of Prince's Signature Ballad

At the New York concert on the 9th, Prince played his basic setlist for this tour, which as all of u know by now contains almost nothing from his catalog of old top ten hits. Prince made an exception with Purple Rain last night. Now, I have loved this song from the first time I heard it, and it has always struck an emotional chord with me. Something different happened Tuesday night. Prince poured his soul into that song. Hearing him talk about the terrible tragedy of 9/11, and how it has altered the lives of everyone who lives in or near New York City... I lost 2 friends in the attack, and during that song, in that moment, I couldn't do anything except sit there, crying, and feeling the presence of my lost companions next 2 me. If this says anything at all, it should remind us all that the power of that song, and the power of Prince's message, is more alive now than it ever was. No matter how many times I have heard that song live, I will remember this time as the best. Purple Rain will, and should, live in our hearts 4ever. I hope that some of the other NY fans took away the same experience from that song that I did. Prince, thank u 4 that. Thank u.

I you're the first person that i've heard, really receive and understand the message that Prince is trying to get across nowadays. So many people attack him now, on his beliefs, him not playing his old hits, or his new songs not being up to parr. At the Detroit show at the end of the show, when Annastesia was playing he said that this is the bottom line;

"Love is God, and God is Love..."
Why would that be so hard 4 people to understand...? I don't know

I think this is true. It is important to find God, no matter how u go about it. I do not agree with everything some religions teach, but I do believe that studying the Bible is important. U don't have 2 act like Ned Flanders 2 be in touch with God, u just have 2 open u're heart and mind, and catch up on a little reading. smile
