Vote for Prince on 09011 331133

It is concentrating on the Artist of the 870's so lets make sure we all vote for Prince as I am sure he will be among the top contenders!

This is the link for the 90's artists. The 80's will probably be out on Sunday!

There are 10 nominees for each decade - they are doing the show revealing the nominees on Channel 4 on Sunday (UK) - so that's why Prince isn't up yet.

But you can't vote online anyway, you have to ring a number - in otherwords, it's mostly about making Channel 4 loads of money!

The public vote alone doesn't even decide the result. They kind of quickly glossed over the fact that the public vote will be added to their own 'private poll' which I take to be the industry insiders they've already used to choose the final 10 will also vote and will probably have a greater percentage of influence than all the public votes combined.

There are 5 pre-selected automatic entries from the 5 decades - Elvis, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Madonna and U2.

Which means that Prince will be fighting it out with Michael Jackson for induction from the 80s - if Prince even makes it in to the final 10, that is.

Even with Michael's recent problems, I think Prince will find it hard to beat him to be honest.

Spookymuffin

The UK Public are so ignorant about Prince that they won't vote for him anyway.
I regularly get asked if Prince is dead or if he still makes music, followed by is he gay...

The preview for the 80's programme shows a montage of 80's stars and I beleive I saw prince circa. 1984 Purple rain era.

A good chance he will be inducted. We'll have to wait for Sunday!

You mean a good chance he will be nominated for induction.

On the advert, the only bit of Prince they play is the 'uggh' from Kiss right at the end - but I'm pretty sure he'll make it to the last 10 nominations. They have already used footage of Alicia Keys being interviewed, I bet she will be seen commenting on Prince in that flowery hippy-drippy devoted way that she does.

The Channel 4 website talks shit anyway. It says that Prince has never had a number 1 in the UK... TMBGITW was number 1... I think they have already decided who goes in and who doesnt, they just cashing in on the premium rate number...

The Prince bit was pretty good. interviewees included Alicia Keys, Terry Lewis, Randy Jackson, some guy from Rolling Stone and a load of others. He won't win it (MJ probably will), but they gave a pretty good (if brief) appraisal of his legacy (despite Hahn's best efforts...)

Yeah, they've changed it, someone must have pointed it out to them. Now the only things they have wrong, is that they say he changed his name in '93 - but fail to mention he changed it back. Also, as usual, they refer to him as 'tiny'. What, is he the size of Tom Thumb or something? Why is his size important to his biography? It's just a way of digging at him, basically.
