I had actually forgotten about this album for over 15 years, then I got a copy again and I think it is a great Prince CD, truly! It's a shame that it ended so low on Starbuck's thread for the best Prince album...

I will never forget this album. I was a freshman who was constantly teased about my devotion to the beautiful nude guy on the pegasus. My friends only like Sexy Dancer and I would literally just write that album (lyrics) daily in class. I remember thinking Prince must have been the lonliest man in the world. Still today, whenever I'm really digging on someone and they are not digging on me or whenever I break up with someone. I pull out that cd and listen to over and over again. I tell myself, " he survived, I can too". Damn that album was sexy

Sexy Dancer is a classic. Prince kicked ass on this song

I love this album, more for the quality of the songs on there than the production. Every song is quality, bar perhaps "With You" which Ive never liked. I like the fact that a lot of the album retrospectives being done in magazines recently have been giving this album great write ups.

As for the vinyl non believers, Im 24 and too young to have old records like this one, but after being so turned off by the cold sounding CD version I had to go out and by the vinyl copy, and it was totally worth it, for the bass on I feel for you and Sexy Dancer alone.

BTW, I heard the live version of Still Waiting Atlanta '79 and can categorically say this is one of the best live vocals Ive ever heard. Brilliant version. Fans of this song should dig it out.
