saw who, prince or gary? and are you saying prince did "cars" at a soundcheck or that gary did prince tunes at a soundcheck? 
gary numan is a favorite artist of mine - i haven't had the heart to check out the prince covers he did, however - those were recorded during what i consider to be a considerably bleak period of numan's recording career, when he was making some pretty silly, uninspired music. the stuff he's done over the past five or so years, however, is top-notch.  he just needs to quit recycling his glory-days material (can he possibly release one more remixed/rerecorded/remastered version of his greatest hits?) and keep on writing the new stuff, IMHO. | |
