I still dont rate this album very highly though. Even pulling out the best tracks according to moi, I still think as a single disc it stands along side Rave IN2...

This album shoulda/coulda been so much stronger as his first release as a 'free' man...

Those r the tracks I hear most if I ever bother to hear it at all!

"my happy" is best track off the whole album period! No one has ever mentioned this track as a true highlight! The rap is cool too!

"da da da" is cool too, who was the rapper?

It's still one of the best Prince albums IMO

Disc one is my favorite

There are so many important songs on that album that deal with so many vital issues depite his Mayte worshipping songs.
Like "New World" he basically tells us how our world is changing for the worse.
And "Style" is just so fucking inspiring to me, i took a line into my sig. It shows the misconception of what style is, how it is related to your physical image but it is really how you are as a person.

There is so much filler, and so much to cringe from and ridicule from this period, but I'd go with this as a 1CD of Emancipation:

Why you all not mentioning "Curious Child"? I think that song is so beautiful, especially when it breaks down into the classical harpsichord motif. Too cool!

I love this Album especially all the songs from disc 2 so that would be my Ideal CD plus a few other favs like Somebody's Somebody and the Human Body
