I just bought UTCM on VHS ($1.10 at a Salvation Army store!) and watched it on video for the first time. God, I love this movie! It's so warm and romantic. Anyway, why is it that Wendy & Lisa get about fifteen seconds if that on camera? In fact, the whole Revolution seem to barely appear at all.

Well it might have something to do with the, err, storyline. If Prince had played a rockstar instead of a gigalo, he might have needed the presence of band members in the movie.

Obviously Prince fancied himself as an actor, or otherwise why even appear in a film where he wasn't really needed to sing? Whereas the Revolution clearly weren't actors and therefore weren't needed.

I've always thought it could have been a better film if they'd found more of a reason for Prince to perform music in it.
