It's ironic that Prince is one of only a few artists to have a hit movie.. but at the same time he makes the worst videos.. I wonder why he can't put together a cool 3 minute video....

He's past the point of no return. The demographic that likes videos the most are obviously not important enough for him to care enough to put much effort into videos, or get them out in a timely fashion. He's been there and done that, regardless of what you think the quality or lack thereof was.

And even if he did put effort into it there's not a good chance video stations would put him into their rotations consistently: he's nearly 50 years old. In case you hadn't noticed there is ageism that goes on in the music industry when it comes to radio airplay and video airplay. So-called "comebacks" notwithstanding.

So my answer is the same as it was the last time you made this a thread topic: he's old school and would rather put more effort into attracting fans the old fashioned way at this point in his career since radio and video stations will have little to nothing to do with his new music: LIVE GIGS.

"I wish you heaven" was just embarrassing though, in my opinion...all that artificial serenity..ick! And the "Cream" video is classic in its cheesiness. Same with Sexy MF.

I can remember the days when it was all about the quality of the music and if there even was a video, it was secondary. I can even remember the days before videos when it was totally about the quality of the music.

He made some great ones.....but most r average 2 boring.....

ANd Prince probably pays more attention to his music rather than his image so he'll put a lot less effort in his videos unlike Michael, Janet and Madonna.

i loved alphabet st., but everyone is making a big fuss about this "cinnamon girl" video. i think i need to watch this one since everyone is praising it so much.

I have to say I am not terribly impressed with his videos per se. He has a few good ones…

I wanna be your lover - (plain…but look at that hair…and I DON”T go for just face videos. But the age of him and the video are what stand out
Automatic/Sexuality/Let’s Pretend – Although similar…there are some great moments…and they get freeky!. As a whole the Controversy/1999 videos are compelling
America – Performance…but a great one at that. It doesn’t stop
Alphabet St. – Simply great. Good images, very colorful. Never seen anything like it. Quintessential Prince.
I wish U heaven – Depends on who you ask. I like it. It really goes with the song’s beauty, I think.

When I lay my hands on U - from the minute.15 sec I saw this was also good.

So, they aren't all bad...just not all good. Many are in-between, like Kiss, Rasp Beret, Mountains, U got the look, Money don't matter etc. I think he could have done better but whatev.

It's hit or miss with his videos. Some of them are iconic like D&P, some are cool as hell like Automatic, and some suck royally like the whole 3 Chains of Gold collection (with the exception of Damn U).
