Prince discussion on London Radio I just listened to a 10-15 minute piece on the London Radio Station LBC 97.3
They were discussion the Cinamon Girl video and how disgusting they found it that Prince is using the shock tactic of a suicide bomber in an airport to gain promotion for his new single. Whatever Prince's reason for the video depiction, it seems that certainly some elements of the media are taking an extremely dim view of this. You have to remember that the majority of the public, certainly in the UK, are not aware of the "new" Prince and think this is a purely shock promotional tactic. Thoughts ? (Constructive ones rather than "oooooh, they're complete f**kwits" would be nice )

They obviously think P should stick to making cheap-ass performance videos and not get all
arty and political . Does make you wonder if they'd actually listened to the song tho, as the video is a direct expansion on the theme of the track itself (or maybe it was too 'literal' for them)

It's not a shock tactic. Who's shocked? Where is the hype? He's not using it to sell it at all.

To me it seems that most people don't watch the video properly, or are so politically correct that they think they have to be offended by images of a (muslim) girl thinking about 'bombing' herself ... without thinking about what it really means

Sheep and old women, now that's pretty funny. I can picture it.
