I wouldn't mind eating some Crow ... if she let me.

I HATE that song. Both versions, but Prince should be ashamed. With as many songs as he's got locked away in "the vault" there is no need for him to do covers. Especially when they are so horrible!

Prince really F*ucked that one up!! I always skip his version.. man that is one of the baddest covers I've ever heard.. Pitty that it is a Prince one..... the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

I was wondering this myself. So, he didn't write this Song, it isn't really one of his.....he just covered it? Anyway, I like the Song, bot Versions.

i love it for what it is -- fun. never did like sheryl's original, but i do enjoy the Sly Stone & P-funk spices that Prince & Larry added to it.

Especially when they are so horrible! DITTO! I agree 100%. I consider that album, Prince's "sellout" album for selling out and following the trend of all the other artists that are doing covers and have guest stars on the album. Andy is a four letter word.

Prince's cover was dissapointing. It had the potential to be really, really good - but IMO he fell short. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Hate it. I agree with the sentiment that with so many great songs he's written, doing covers makes no sense...at least not on an album.
And why pick a song that was barely 4 years old, if even? Sheryl did it better.

I'm ususally easy on Prince's music (meaning I generally like whatever he puts out) with the one exception being "Everyday Is A Winding Road". I'm sorry, I don't think this will ever strike my tastebuds with anything except the taste of utter poo... [Edited 10/4/04 11:19am] Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

This is the ultimate shame Prince has done, how could he do that?
Right before the concert they were playing it over the loud speaker and i was about to barf. Sheryl's is good and i love Sheryl Crow, but P is such a great songwriter he doesn't need to do silly covers. Silly silly silly Prince

Me too I loved Prince's funkier groovier version!! Hers makes me sad, but I love some of her other songs, I guess If you will, so will I

I like the cover... and there are some cute P changes... Sheryl survives on caffeine and nicotene... P lives on compliments and herbal tea... Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

I like Prince's version. The only bit I have to skip is Larry's nonsense at the end. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

It's okay for what it's for but reallyit should have been left off the album. It completely changes the overall tone to something else than what was originally intended with the vintage Prince approach.
