First Time You Have Ever Saw Prince...EVER..

Well...I'm newbie and I have liked Prince for about 8 months...I remember seeing Prince on the Oprah Winfrey and my mom watching it..I think in 96 or 97...they showed a picture of Prince in a nude photo...I think it was his Lovesexy CD cover...I remember yelling and screaming at my mom for watching a nude man...see I was raised in a Catholic/Conservative family..so finally mom changed it. Who would have ever thought I would like him this much biggrin

first time I saw him Ever...on TV? hmm....I don't really remember but I think it was the when doves cry video...
first time I ever saw him in the flesh...right in front of me...well now THAT was an experience I'll NEVER forget....
It was as he walked into the letterman show prior to his "dolphin" performance...he was wearing Pink and sequence...and I was about a foot from him when he got outta his limo...I was in total shock. It was like up until that point, I didn't realize he was a "real" person...he was almost like a fictional character to me. I was moved.
I also got to see mayte! I wasn't so "moved" seeing her but it was still cool to see her. I also saw Kathy lee gifford..LOL she came out and nobody screamed her name or anything...I think she was surprised by that. LOL
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

Either Don Kishner's Rock Concert or The Midnight Special (was that with Wolfman Jack?) singing Dirty Mind. First time in person was Lovesexy Tour in MSG, NYC.

The first time I ever saw his face.....whatever year "I wanna be your lover" came out. (Too lazy to go upstairs right now and check the album cover.)
The song IWBYL was featured on an album called Soundwaves with various other artists.
I was around 9 or 10 years old. My sister and I bought the album only to get the song "Into the Night" by Benny Mardones.
We get the album through the mail and I see this photo on the back of this cat with long flowing hair and I didn't even know which song on the album was his.
WHAT A TRIP !!!
That was it for me.....

Amazing how you remember the specifics...I have scant memories of Diamonds and Pearls and 1999, I'm not sure which video I saw first. I first saw him in the flesh in 2003.

If you mean a picture, I first saw him as the Rude boy, with the rain coat and wet looking hair.
If you mean on tv, hmm, I can't remember the video but it was during the era where he had just straightened his hair and was wearing the large gold hoop earrings. I love that look!

i was 8 or 9 years old and it was the summer of 1979, and i'd just come home to indiana from a visit to my grandparents' house in kansas. my mom and i were staying up late watching TV, and on the midnight special (or don kirschner, i forget which), they played the "i wanna be your lover" clip and i remember my mom and i thinking it was a cool song, but the guy performing it looked like an absolute freak and a half. lol

Though I'm sure I'd seen him before then,(because when I saw the pic, even though the caption called him "Mr. Squiggle" I knew who it was) the first time I remember seeing Prince was in the candid celebrity photo section in a copy of Sugar magazine when I was 9 years old on my first trip to England. This was a week or two before my tenth birthday, so it was in March 1995.

I was at work & saw a pictue of Prince either inside a magazine or on its backcover. I thought something like "Who's this gay guy"? I know...I know - shame on me. Later on (1984) before going to see "Purple Rain" I purchased the cassette. There I was 31yrs old & feeling like a school girl. My son Gabriel was under 3yrs old. He heard the songs so much he began to call Prince "Purple Rain". How cute was that!? I went to see Prince at the Nassau Coliseum 84/85 and from then on I've been in deep admiration for Prince.

Heck: Admiration is not the word. I'm obsessed...My son & I had "secret words" - in case someone told my boy "Your mom\dad asked me to take you home". The secret words were "Purple Rain"!!! Gabe to person: "What are the secret words"? If the person didn't say them...Gabe was instructed to walk or run away from that person.

In Gabe's "Baby Book" (Hey...He's a man now but he'll always be my little one. Dig? lol )
