The 1 thing I hate about Reflection is.......

Its 2 short! Reflection is such a beautiful song from Musicology. It’s such a sentimental song with such deep meaning. I can truly relate 2 this song and I wonder what type of mood P was in when he wrote it. It was such a pleasure seeing him and Wendy together again performing live on the Tavis Smiley show. Reflection has me reminiscing back in the day when life wasn’t so complicated. I never hear anyone speak on this song. I’m I the only 1 feeling this beautiful song? I know a lot of u fans aren’t feeling Musicology but I think it’s a great CD. Let me hear how u feel about Reflection wink

Yes, I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. It is an absolute gem on an otherwise lacklustre album. Beautiful.

yea musicology is a great cd...and reflection is definately a high point...but uhh i think it lasted long enough...3 minutes and some seconds...i get y u say it shoulda been longer tho...cuz its one of those songs that u just wanna hear go on and on..but i think had it lasted longer it mighta been a bit repetitive ykno? i mean what more could he say? the thing i don't like about it though is that its not a good closer to me...i mean reflection as beautiful as it is...its sad cuz it makes u think and it sorta ends the record on a sad note....i think he shoulda closed it with like musicology or somethin..,maybe like a hidden track? but not reflection.

speaking of which, what's with all the extra time at the end of this track? It's useless. My player goes on for a minute or two of silence.

I do not understand how a man who claims to live totally in the here and now and often refuses to discuss the past can right a song called reflection.

Yea definately. I totally agree this song cuts off just as you are really getting into it. I would rate it as my favourite song on the album despite its length, however it would be a true classic if it was at least 60 seconds longer.

I love this song. I appreciate tunes that are short and sweet.

Yes, is's a beautiful song. After hearing the version he did with Wendy in Smiley's show it sounded even deeper and better. Of course it could be a little bit longer. wink

Reflection is an excellent song and I think it goes on as long as it needs to. It's funny, I was just listening to it a hour ago. Hearing it on the Tavis Smiley show made appreciate it even more, especially seeing Wendy there by his side.

I love the version with Wendy, but I find the drums on the CD detract from an otherwise lovely song. No classic in my opinion but very chilled for Prince.

This is the 1 song on Musicology that repeat over and over. Well..... Reflection, and the last minute of ICP&C.

Reflection sounds good playing in startbucks.
In a stereo it kind of sounds unfinished, like a demo he didn't know what to do with, but was amuzed enough by it to release it.

Like the song a whole lot. It reminds me of some of the finer work on his earlier albums. It's one of my favorites.

I LOVED hearing that song on Tavis, but was let down by the studio version. That clapping drum machine is way too loud, and the nuiances of Prince's incredible voacl are lsot. Still agreat song, but the Tavis version was an absolutely flawless vocal performance, that I would LOVE to have on CD! wink

I love this song sooooo much. Theblueangel is actually the one who made me fall in love with it. Sometimes he can describe a song or tell me how he feels about it and it's contagious. I'm addicted to it now.

This song is wonderful...so wonderful that I forced myself to learn how to play it on guitar all by myself! woot!
I love the lyrics, the up and down melody...when I listen to this song all kinds of images come to mind. Matter of fact, when I wanna chill, I usually play REFLECTION as the sun is setting...it has a great effect! nod

It's funny, because I first fell in love with the studio Reflection, but (perhaps after seeing it live on Tavis) I totally agree with you about that drum machine being WAY, WAY too loud.

I just sing even louder than I normally would to try and cover it up. smile
