Prince, who ended his tour Saturday at the H-P Pavilion at San Jose, did a final hang at Pete Escovedo's Latin Jazz Club in San Jose.

The quirky artist had booked the place after his Friday show, renting pool tables and a big-screen TV and hiring a caterer and an interior designer. Prince didn't show up, but the rest of his band and entourage, including Nikka Costa, did.

But at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, his buses pulled up at the club and the purple one hung out, leaving the VIP section to dance and hang out with fans, who were cleared out at 2 a.m. He and his entourage stayed until 5 a.m., watching the DVD of the show he had just finished.

``We danced all night,'' said Zina Escovedo, club manager.

She said one of the best things was that Prince said good things about the club's new sound system. ``That was important, coming from a musician, to a musician.''
