Ray Charles and Jill Scott both outdid LL's new one. Wow!

Only a couple more weeks of concert CD's counted. I was hoping it could make it to two million or double platinum but it just might fall short. Anyway, it's had a good run. Can't wait to see what's coming next. I would like an acoustic album, a jazz album a musicology tour live album and a screaming electric rock albub all released simultaneously! Hey! I can dream!

I really do think Prince may get a Grammy nod for album of the year. So "Uncle Mo" could come back in the winter to visit Musicology.

You gotta figure a DVD and/or live Musicology album at minimum, after some Euro-Aussie-Japanese tour legs. Then, who knows?

They've stopped adding the tagline about the CD as part of the price of the ticket. That's a good thing. It was like they felt they had to remind us of this each week, and I was starting to get a little tired of the debate it would spark. It's units sold, not people sold to, that counts.

About Ray Charles and Jill Scott beating out LL Cool J, I am glad to hear that. Don't get me wrong - nothing against LL (and I like that new single of his), but rap is still the new kid on the block, and it's been getting way too much attention these last couple years. You know what Prince would say, "It's because real music lovers are purchasing real music again."

If Musicology was released as a concert DVD, it would sell very well, I think. All we have to do is ask for it, because you know Prince reocrded his shows, if for no other reason than to critique himself.

I remember the Rave In2 the Year 2000 Concert was so good and in such demand that NPG Records released it. I'm not sure whether they had plans to, either. Anywho, enough people asked about it, and if we do this again, Prince is very likely to listen.

Both times I've seen Prince live were at Cox Arena at San Diego. First time I had bench G seats, second time I had section J, but down about ten rows. So even with the way the stage was set up, I could still see him a lot better than before, of course. However, there was so much going on onstage that it was hard to keep track of where anyone was at one point. I loved that he put a horn at each "corner" of the stage.

Look at me goin' on like a babblin' brook. Good sh*t, maynard.

The Artist has built himself a great launching pad to do something huge next year. But will he go an entirely different direction?

Dont forget there is/was 450,000+ units that the chart has not counted. So the Official Number is over 2 million sold.

Yes. and unfortunately it will be a commercial failure. Dont misunderstand me, it will probably be musically great, but it would be nice to see him in the mainstream for another year or 2.

Yes, it would be fun, to say the least -- like this year was fun. I look forward to having even more fun. So many of my friends' eyes have been opened to Prince's true talent this year, and in turn they have come to understand me better because of that. It's been a good year.

I suppose but hes done what he wanted to do. Proved what he needed to prove. I think he wanted to show that if he puts his mind to it he can sell out arenas and have a commercial hit album. Now that hes done it and "cleared the decks" as it were i think hes gonna feel free to do whatever he feels like that may be uncommercial such as more jazz albums or whatever. But who knows.

I think that it's probably very close to the 2 Million mark. I'm guestimating in the 1,500,000 region, somewhere. But either way, I think an album such as this will definitely gain Prince a much deserved Grammy nomination.

Maybe it won't reach the double platinum status in the states, but total worldwide sales should excess two millions easily.

The 450,000 werent counted becasue some of them were giveaway b4 the official release of the album!! which would be about 200k+

and the rest werent counted because the tickets were bought thru npgmc
