Rainbow children

Would someone please explain to me the thought behind this CD? I haven't heard it yet so I am sure that would help. But I just read a post that alluded to the CD dealing with religion. The post said "my wife was a rainbow child, now she is happy woman" I think the talk was about being repressed as a child and when becoming an adult, rebelling. Is this what happened with Prince, his mom was a JW and when he got old enough, went to total opposite way as a way of rebelling. And does rainbow children CD deal with these issues?
thanks

The Rainbow Children only SEEMS to be rooted in JW religion. But as with all things Prince and
Religion, it is a mish mash of scripture and Prince-babble.

It's not really that straight forward. In fact, it's almost like a new mythology of sorts. There
are the "Rainbow Children" and the "Banished Ones" who seem in direct conflict with one
another.

Yes, the "Rainbow Children" do 'travel on the wings of the New Translation' and 'go from
door 2 door, willing to do The Work", but that's about as far as it goes.

In other places there is little or no religion in the songs and at the end of the disc, the
albums closing song sounds more like a Christian-Fan-Gathering stadium anthem than
anything else.

For what it is, silly lyrics in places, incredibly deep and provoking lyrics in others, this is
simply an amazing Prince album. Certainly one of his best albums ever.

It sounds organic and alive. The music is less predictable than NPS or RAVE and the songs
have their very own style. The over all album feels cohesive and is loosely laced together
by a deep voice which narrates the story of the "Rainbowchildren" as segues inbetween
the songs, or in some places he even pops within the songs.

There is some great great rock, some jazzy stuff, some new age like instrumental stuff
weird noises, incredible live drumming cool arrangements, breezy guitarslides and some
quite sexual stuff too.

Whatever you make of the lyrics, they can be interpreted in more than one way and they
don't seem to follow one core religion. It's a mixture, the way I read into it.

No, that's not what happened.
