Wendy's description of her first time hearing the Beautiful Ones on Purple Rain SE DVD

I was watching disc two of the set last night and I was almost moved to tears by Wendy's description of the first time she heard The Beautiful Ones. The way she runs out of adjectives to describe how unbelievale it was to witness someone that talented is very moving. Wendy's statements were so interesting because they were not forced. Instead, they were natural and honest; expressing to the world how incredibly talented/gifted Prince is. My favorite statement from her interview was, "You (Prince) are so totally in tune with your creativity... I remember hearing that song and thinking to myself, God you (Prince) are so good. You are so good at this." Disc two is full of other moving moments from Bobby Z.'s comments about being privilidged to witness a "human being that creative" to Albert Magnoli's tears over a scene in the movie that was suppossedly based in reality.

To say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this 2 Disc set would be an understatement!!!

I completely agree with you.

My favorite part has to be when she picks up the guitar and demonstrates how she worked out the chords for the intro to Purple Rain.

Say what you want, but she is the baddest female guitarist on the planet, as well as being sex-on-a-stick, cause she's fine.

Oops, I strayed from my point... her intro to Purple Rain, makes it hard listen to this song live without her strumming it, in the correct sound and manner.

I thought her description was a little over the top. The worst thing I ever did was watch that behind the scenes featurette on the Purple Rain DVD. Purple Rain is a movie with amazing music and musical performances whose story & acting is just adequate enough to not ruin the film. I couldn't stand listening to the director, Albert Magnoli, talk about the movie and the job he did on it. He talked with such pretension and arrogance that you would think for a second he might be important.

Yes Prince is better than God. Let's never forget that. Now - we can all cry in euphoric amazement.

I thought the way Wendy said it made her sound like a lost scene from a John Hughes teen movie.
