More info regarding new CD

In regards to the NY newspaper article where it suggests that Prince's next CD will be a Jazz album, and one of the featured players is bassist Matt Garrison.

I went 2 Matt Garrisons website ( http://www.garrisonjazz.com/ ), and on the sidebar clicked SCHEDULE.

It's interesting to note if u check out August 2004 calendar, It clearly states that he recorded with Wallace Roney (the other artist mentioned in the article involved in the project) at Paisley Park Studios on August 11th, 12th & 13th.

So it sounds like this project is all ready 2 go

There was no Musicology tour date on the 11th August. Prince performed in Washington DC on 12th and 13th August.

Did anyone read the history of Paisley Park?

"Paisley Park Studios was opened in 1987 by PRINCE, the legendary musician and entertainer. Paisley Park fame has grown around the word throughout the 80’s and 90’s and continues today.

Since its inception, many of the world’s top artists have used Paisley Park Studios to create chart-topping music, full-length feature films, commercials and music videos."

Only Prince could call himself "Legendary" on his own website! lol

By the way, what chart topping albums and full length feature films have been made here except for Prince's stuff???

R.E.M.'s 'Out Of Time' was mixed there:

Fine Young Cannibals' "The Raw And the Cooked" was recorded with David Z there.

Listen to the samples from Wallace Roney's "No Room For Argument" album eek Don't they recall Prince at times? And listen to "Virtual Chocolate Cherry" especially. It is the synth line Prince incorporates in the Musicology Tour's rendition of "D.M.S.R."!!!

And A-ha's "Memorial Beach", but hardly chart toppers (I don't count mixing as recording there!).

No movies spring to mind! smile

i wouldn't read too much into this. paisley park opened its doors back up to outside recording artists this summer, so that could be anyone doing anything.

I agree. I dont feel like another album that people convince themselves is a masterpiece.

Prince may have had them play and record on top of some basic tracks while he was away the other 2 days... maybe.
