Super Fine Heiffer

How often do you find yourself using Prince phrases and not even realizing it?

Now, this obviously hardly applies 2 those of U who wreyete leyeke this. I can only imagine that your day is full of princisms. No offense, but, uh, damn.

Anyhow, to the regular people out there - are there Princisms that you've added to your daily chitterchat, and occasionally recognize it?

Honestly. Yesterday, I was driving down the street in lovely ATL and saw me a Supa-Fine-Heffa!, sang it out loud, and then spent 5 minutes trying to figure out where I picked up that phrase. (Cindy C. yeah, you already know that).

Yeah, I occasionally holler, "Hundalasiliah" when an inexplicable fit of excitement takes hold of me.

And at work (I run a computer lab for kids and teens) I take great delight in saying, "Sorry baby, that's the rules!" when I have to play enforcer. It takes a hell of a lot of restraint, though, to not follow up with "I pay the rent in this raggedy muthafucka!!"

I once asked Sweeny to make me a new avatar that was slightly erotic but not so over the top it wouldn't be approved. My exact words were "something sexy but not dirty...." As I spoke I realized what I was saying and decided to finish it with....well you know the rest!

DAMN. I say that too. Totally forgot about that.

And yeah, I skip the "I pay the rent" line, and go right to the "and all you do is suck up food and heat. say what? oh yeah."

I use "three fine" all the time.

Further, when ANYONE says to me, "Question." I always immediately blurt out "Does anybody know about the quake?" to confused looks!

Its funny what we appropriate for our own pesonal lingo. I'm sure I have some Prince-isms in there. 3-fine among them but I can't think of any others right now.

I also do Mola Ram from Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom when people argue with me- "You don't believe me? You will Doctor Jones, you will become a true believer!!"

And of course everyone always looks at me in dismay (especially men) when I have to quote Julie Brown on them when they are acting stupid- "Stop it Debbie, you're embarassing me!" (From HOMECOMING QUEEN'S GOT A GUN, of course).

Excellent thread!!

If it was in Cherry Moon, it's in my vocabulary. I also love breaking into the 'the password is ok" routine whenever someone says 'OK' to me. Especially when the person responds and you can 'lead' the person through the whole thing.

"Just like I told ya." I didn't even realize how often I was using it until a friend asked me why I end my sentences with "just like I told ya" so often.

LOL. I do it too.

I quote Prince, during the worst possible opportunities even when the sentence makes absolutly no sense in a social situation.

For example last thanksgiving, I kept quoting the "Black ALbum"

"I just hate 2 C an erection go to waste --- please pass the gravy."

I use a few here and there. Of course when I'm playing up on stage I'm always shoutin' Princely shit - "on the one!" "chili sauce!" , etc. Many of my quotes are also from the Black Album. Bob? Ain't that a bitch? Now go and put on that new wig I bought you. I hate to see an erection go to waste (I actually mumbled this in the background of my song 'Johnnygottaboner' on my Soundclick site - follow the link at the bottom). And, yeah, most people look at me like I'm retarded.
