I always wondered who she was...if she was a girlfriend of any of the guys in the film....or was she just an actress.

When I first saw this movie back when it came out...I initially thought it was Sheila E....she kinda looks like her!

Maybe the answer is in the DVD....which I just bought and will watch later on with friends...

You know, that particular scene was one of the reasons the Catholic church included 'Purple Rain' on its "banned movies" list...said that scene was offensive and degrading to women. I think it was just offensive and degrading to the art of acting!

According to the IMdB, there is a credit for "Beautiful Babe" played by Sandra Claire Gershman. I'm assuming that's the dumpster woman since there is no other credit that specifies "Dumpster Girl".

I tried searching on the internet and all I came up with was that she was evidently still living in MN up until 2001.

There was a film made in 1989 titled 'Angels of the City' directed by Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (the guy who played Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington on Welcome Back, Kotter) that had an actress in it named Sandy Gershman who had no other acting credits to her name, but I dont know if it's the same woman from PR or not.

I love that scene! One of the greatest Prince movie moments.
