With Alicia Keys and Usher Re-releasing there latest hit cds once again...I was thinking PRINCE should Re-release'Musicology'...and add 4-5 new trax to it!

Release the next single; which will be one of the newer songs to radio and sock it to em with that joint!

Come out with a slammin video to follow up Call My Name....something funky fresh and fast!
Old Skool Flava, but trendy!!!

Altho I do like ICPC....but perhaps something funkier and edgy...with a purple twist!

He can do this, go on television and promote the single with a commercial perhaps and do the Pepsi Smash show, along with TRL, 106 & Park, SNL...and do that Showtime Concert Special!

Release the DVD of Musicology as well!!!
And relaunch the tour all over again with more old classic, like "Mountains, America, If I was ur girlfriend, Forever in my life, Lovesexy (with NPG HORNS), Anna Stesia, Diamonds and Pearls, Annie Christian, Delirious, Private Joy, Automatic, Little Red Corvette (original version), Computer Blue, add more 'Musicology' trax, Gett Off, Thieves in the tempo, Gold, Power Fantastic (along with a piano segment of the show).

That would be hott!!!

It's been a few months since that album droppped. Prince should be halfway through his followup album in my opinion.

The desperate looking tactics he used to get back in the top 10 is starting to wear thin with alot of fans. I mean, I remember when Mariah Carey got a whole lot of shit becuase her record company artifically lowered the price of her CDs to make them sell more in order to claim gold and platinum--Prince has taken steps that are more suspect.

Don't get me wrong--selling CDs at concerts is a brilliant tactic--forcing it into a bundle with the ticket price is a little too slick though becuase it doens't show that units sold in this manner where done so through consumer interest.

Ergo, he should move past Musicology--He's made his point. He can have his cake and eat it too. Now if he can commence to giveing me music I care about....

i think he could re-release it with a 2nd disc featuring the virtual b-sides, or maybe put those on the 1st disc and make the 2nd disc a DVD w/ the videos (a decent deal if one gets made for "cinnamon girl")...it'd be a nice little experiment to see how the album fares on its own when the first leg of the tour dies down and the holiday shopping season begins.

I hate the trend of second releases.

Prince should move on to launching his next album. Musicology has gotten it's share of attention.

When I heard Usher was re-releasing his album I wasn't surprised. He seems like a greedy bastard who'd try to take advantage of fans by making them buy an album twice for a couple of new songs.

Sometimes artists add just one new song and get people to re-buy. Ridiculous.
When I heard Alicia was embracing the trend, I was too disppointed.

What happened to the days when an album was a well-thought, cohesive piece of work not to be reconfigured.

I just need to vent.

Because some of this so-called stars are taking advantage of their celebrity by making clothes (when they aren't designers), drinks (when they aren't beverage companies), putting about remixed albums when the first was bad enough and making movies (when they can't act) ... and all to get money to buy big cheap gaudy jewelry (Nelly comes to mind).

I was watching BET one Day when that rapper Trina told the audience to go buy her album so she could buy some "ice." Ludicris was showing off his and she lamented that she didn't have any.

I'm sick of it. Real artists don't need to morph into a marketing brands with all these ploys to make cash. I mean I approve of free enterprise but seeing some of these inarticulate fools make a joke of capitalism is sickening.

So in short, Please Prince don't follow this re-release, re-mix, or any other trend.

Rave In2 was HOTT, in my opinion. it completely revamped what i thought was a lukewarm album and turned it into something so much incredibly livelier. if prince did this kind of overhaul to musicology - which i already think is a fine album (not one of his best, but i really like it) - i couldn't imagine how much fun it could be.

Just bring on the next new album!!!

A rerelease is a horrible idea. The virtual b's suck, and why would you want to buy them again? A Musicology DVD would be fine, it looks like a fun tour and would make a decent flick, but it is time to move on. Actually, my entire enjoyment of Musicology was ruined by the fan remixes and endless loop intro to the site a few days before the release. I was already sick of the sound of it! I hate the artwork, and only really like two or three songs (and can tolerate four more)...

p.s even though I didn't attend any shows, between downloading the album and getting a long box and digi version, I can start using copies as coffee coasters. No more Musicology or articles proclaiming return to Purple Reign!!!!!
