Other artists covering Prince tunes The best and the worst, and I'm not talking about songs he gave to people. I'm talking about someone kidnapping a Prince song and having their way with it. Most are bad, some are good and few are brilliant.
I really loved the techno version of When Doves Cry on the Romeo and Juliet Sndtrk. When I saw that scene in the movie, I was like "If church was like that, I'd be there EVERY Sunday!" And I'm not even Catholic anymore! Tori Amos does Purple Rain now and then and I really love her. She has a great ability to interpret other people's music. I think when people try to do it just like Prince, that's when they get into trouble. I've heard people mention a techno or house album of Prince tunes: Can someone give me that title please? And I remember hearing about a jazz album that was covers of Prince tunes, anyone remember that one? I think When Doves Cry was in the title of that one, but I can't remember right now. So what's your favorite version of a Prince song covered by another artist?

Don't know of any techno album though... I'm with you on this purchase. I have it to(or had it, it got stolen). It has a version of "The Question of You" on which is the way the song should've been done. As well as a version of "Kiss" that kills. The whole album is good. All covers of Prince tunes.

Oh yeah! I forgot about this one! Cyndi is great, she did Strawberry Fields on that John Lennon tribute recently.
