I think there are about 350 official Prince songs. But then you have to count the songs he has written under aliases and for other artists. Even if you could count all of those songs, it's impossible to count how many songs he has written that are just lying around, or in the vault. The world may never know.

I think there are more than 450 songs registered to him in ASCAP website, but I know that at least a few of those are incorrect.
According to an excerpt from Uptown the Vault that I saw, he didn't really have anything to do with Stevie Nick's Stand back but she gave him co-writing credit as thanks for guesting on it. Plus Partyup is registered to him when Morris Day actually wrote it (as I believe is common knowledge among prince fans) and the stick, which the time website says was really written by Lisa Coleman is registered to him. Last but not least, is that Jungle Love doesn't include Jesse Johnson in the registration and the time site once again said he's the one who actually wrote it. I also heard that there's a lot of ambiguity about who actually wrote the songs in the early days on both his albums and in regards to the time, vanity etc, as well as in regards to the NPG albums.
