Printablei have not a clue why he is so unpopular to the masses
but when i am asked who i like, i say i am rather partial to prince and they act if i have the plague! i have only once met someone who likes prince with a passion and shocked when he was male! and a bigger fan than me- who could like prince better than me! oh how niave so stigma or not damn the man although the only place you get to kick it is in your living room as the clubs are a little shy at playing prince - i say try - i emjoy having the dance floor to myself! | |

You are totally correct about this. U2 plays the game and plays it well, but true artists don't worry about games that much. Anybody who plays the Super Bowl halftime show loses much of their artistic credibility in my book. It is a big sellout. And U2 constantly kisses MTV's ass and does interviews with them, plays their award shows, etc. Sure it's easy to make money being a whore if you put out a lot, but I'm glad Prince spends more time on his feet than on his back with his legs spread like some of the more popular "artists". | |

Well...better late than never...says she!!! 
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this ... cause I didn't read the entire thread. 
Anyway, I have always thought that Prince should just.."Shut Up already, Damn"!!! 
What I mean is, back in the day Prince was oh-so-very guarded, private, shy.... whatever you may want to call it. Bottom line is that for quite awhile he very rarely spoke with the media. No interviews, no PR stunts, no comment!!! In P's case Less =  was definately More =  !!!
His silence gave him a certain mystique that was very sexy and very intriging. 
His music is the only statement he need make... it speaks volumes... and it speaks brilliance!! whereas his interviews 
well I'm not even go there... I think y'all are with me here So, IMNSHO Prince you need to.... Shut yo mouf and open yo vault!!!!

looks like we all hit it on the head. u cant burn your bridges makes 4 some hot feet. radio and record companies are vital when it comes 2 the charts.but a lot can happen in 20yrs guys he gets older the fans get older u wonder do u go 4 the new young listerners are oldies. but as long as he makes music i'll stick around 2 listen. stickman | |

Absolute unwillingness to play by the rules.
'no I won't give you a video on the date you are asking for it'. 'no I will not release that song as a lead single' 'no, Hype Williams can not direct my video - I will ' 'no, I will not take that guitar solo out of the slow jam'. 'No I WILL NOT RECORD WITH MJ' 'no i will not sell my songs to Pepsi, Coke or Toyota' 'no I will not appear in videos with ALicia keys and whoever else is using my music'. 'no you don't tell me - I tell YOU'. Lots of reasons... this guy is a true rebel.. yes, Tommy Lee is wild and crazy, and countless others are preceived to be wild.. but please, what other established artist kicks back as hard as Prince - willing to lose everything ? | |
