The complete 'Flesh' sessions (has anybody here heard any other tracks connected with this project besides 'U Gotta Shake Something'???)

The Dopamine Rush Suite

Intermission, from the Lovesexy shows... that neoclassical piece always gives me goose-pimples when I hear it

"God" (Instrumental) a.k.a. "Love Theme from Purple Rain"

I believe this was only available on a U.K. 12" single.

OK, since 'Moonbeam Levels' has already been mentioned, how about someone clearing up the lyrics for me? According to the Databank Transcription Team, the chorus goes: "Please send all your moonbeam levels 2 me", whereas Per Nilsen has it as "Peace and glory of moonbeam levels to be", in his book Turn It Up 0.2.

Which one of these is correct?????

Tricky. It's a B-Side to a vinyl single by the Time. It ends with the sound of a toilet flushing and Prince singing the theme to the Tonight Show With Johnny Carson. No lie.

"You're just old...and fat"

That shit is BRILLIANT!

I was actually quite surprised that "Cloreen Baconskin" was done before it. They just sort of rehashed the groove, but it's far better this way.

...and fat. smile

Has any1 else got the song 'RU horney?' I have around 300 unreleased prince songs (approximately) and I always discus the most common ones. Great ones like ‘Rebirth’ ‘The ball’ ‘Large room w/ no lights’ ‘moonbeams’ etc but no one else has ever mentioned it. I’m starting to wonder if it’s actually a prince song because the CD-r I’ve got it on is such good quality. I want to make sure the guy I traded with hasn’t just taken a song by a guy who sound allot like prince. It’s a great song anyway.

Your not alone. I've got "R U Horny" as well. There are definately some "bogus" Prince songs out there so you do have to be careful. All that's purple ain't Prince!

Some of my favorite Obscure songs are:

Lov or $ 12"
Return of the Bump Squad
Madd 12"
Radical Man
Soulpsycadelicide
LaLaLa HeeHeeHee 12",
"We can play 4 days! If it get dry, gimme that mayonaise!"

Thats easy. 2 simple words: PEOPLE WITHOUT. When I first heard that song from the "Small Club" boot I popped such a woody that I gave myself a life long hernia. The first half of People Without kicks rightous purple ass (and to think that Prince was ad-libbing most of the lyrics). The second half of the song where he goes off on some strange keyboard tangent is sub-par; but without a doubt the first half is amazing. I would love to hear a studio version of this tune but I doubt that it would surface. Just goes to show that the SOTT/Lovesexy era was without a doubt Prince at his musical best.
My DC Direct wishlist: 1) Bane, 2) Prof Zoom, 3) Superman Blue, 4) Kilowag, 5) Parasite

"R U Horny" IS a fake. it doesn't even sound like Prince, does it? It's just one of those tracks from that Dr. Feelgood -bullshit.

The 12-minute studio version of "People Without" does circulate. But I only managed to get the first 20 seconds of it from Napster and never saw it again... and then they killed off Napster. PIGS!!!!

WITNESS 4 THE PROSECUTION, which is rarely mentioned in these kinds of discussions. The guitar playing on that song is FIERCE - total Jimi/SRV kind of thing, and the funk is deep, and the singing - it's my fave kind of prince voice - the Sly Stone growl kind of thing.

LISA is groovy too.

FOR LOVE by Jill Jones - what an awesome jam - "for love, I would suffer kisses from another if that was what turned you on"

And 1+1+1=3, which will sadly be an obscure song for the man. It's a great tune, and those who LOVED Erotic City would be blown away by this song. But, since it won't ever be released as a single, and the album ain't getting much publicity outside of this site, that classic will fall in line behind all these other obscure songs. VERY SAD INDEED.
