Prince's Guitarists from Dirty Mind to Purple Rain I need help identifying Prince's guitarists from the Dirty Mind Lp to the Purple Rain Lp. I know Wendy came on for the Purple Rain Lp. Who was the 2 guys in the Dirty Mind and Uptown videos? One looks like Andre Cymone. Who was the guy who came on for the 1999 video? Can someone help me out? Thanks. | |

dez dickerson. Ok. Dez was there from almost the beginning. During the Dirty Mind and Uptown videos Andre Cymone played guitar (or base - I am not an instrument guy). During the 1999 video Andre was gone and there was another guy. Who was he? | |

Andre Cymone - bass Dez Dickerson - guitar Bobby Z - drums Gayle Chapman - keyboards Dr. Fink - keyboards The Revolution didn't form overnight. Band members left and were replaced over a long period of time until we ended up with 'The Revolution' line up that we're all familiar with. Gayle Chapman left in May 1980, and was replaced by Lisa Coleman Andre Cymone left in July 1981, and was replaced by Brown Mark Dez Dickerson left in May 1983, and was replaced by Wendy Melvoin | |
