I very much hope that Prince's next album recaptures the imaginative and challenging music of the 80s. Not just glimpses of it but as an overall whole. An amalgamation of what was good about The Rainbow Children and N.E.W.S but taking that creativity further. Personally I thought Musicology was half baked and did not offer anything new. I'd like to see a radical departure from that. Everyone knows (well at least hopes) he has that burning creativity still in him to do it. So if he has, let's here it.

I dont care what it is, as long as he takes that fancy new Paisley Park with all its "upgrades" and makes me a high end audio release. Dvd-Audio 96k 24bit 5.1 channel, or even same in SACD. I'll let him decide. Until then he can kiss my arse....with his fancy going to waste new studio revamp.

I think at this point in his career he may be giving us the best he has to offer.
It's like James Brown, it ain't going to get better. He's not going to write another Mother Popcorn. His lps have basically followed the same formula now for 15 yrs. As great as he is, it's more about the "live" experience these days. Take it for what it is.

The "old Prince".....hardcore funk and rock full of synths and no horns. Andy is a four letter word.

I actuallyt agree with you 110%. A funky album without being pretentious. That's what I'm longing for. A good example of what I'm not talking about is the song Musicology. What's with the preaching he's bitchhing about. If guys wanna use computers let them do their thing if thats what they want to do. Prince is becoming a damn hypocrite/ Isn't this the same guy who sung about being yourself and not conforming in uptown but now he wants everyone to stop using computers.

I don't know about everyone else, but I personally would love to hear an acoustic cd.....like a live one from one of his concerts. I saw him for the 1st time in August, and I could of taken him or left him...I mean I liked some of his music growing up..but whenever I saw his concert, I was amazed....there is nothing the guy cannot play for music. Maybe acoustic with some covers thrown in like the ones he did in the shows of led Zeppelin etc..... "Let me take you away from here.........forever"

Word has it that he will be releasing a CD with acoustic versions of his biggest hits this winter (originally, he planned on packaging this disc with Musicology, but then opted to release it at a later date). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

i can swear i heard he was planning on a jazz album. but then again, if it is not mentioned here, i should reconsider its credibility.

He raves about the power of the NPG on this tour and I agree YET he insists on playing all of the instruments himself that would be nice. I think TRC is miles better than musicology in the music department for that very reason. the band. hahaha Check the credits on TRC...Prince plays nearly everything on it !!! LOL

i personally think it's safe to say horns will feature heavily! I want a more guitar driven album myself but doubt it somehow. Rock. Really hardcore rock. Music that makes Purple Rain look mellow and lyrics that make Sister look like a church hymn. I want Prince to rock hard, get nasty and drop this Jehovah shit! in fact i don't care what he does next, as long as it is soon! )))) i know that this period of 2004 must have inspired him so much that there soon will be something worth looking for! i really do love his latest two internet songs releases.. they are even better than the majority of Musicology. i mixed them into the album for personal use only, and remixed all of the tracks of musicology. i have a funky 73 minutes own personal MUSICOLOGY album now! )))
