The first time I saw the "When Doves Cry" video. I knew Prince before then but when that video came out & I heard that song & saw those outfits, I went "Whoa, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore"!

4 me it would have 2 b watching the gett off video while i was on holiday in florida. that was what first got me in2 prince.

the video was so cool and the song was even better. i remember it clearly; my parents were in the hotel room next door and some how a stray cat and gotten in2 their room. now neither of them r animal lovers so they started shouting 4 me 2 come get this cat out of their room. so with one ear i was totally transfixed by the music on the tv and in the other ear i had my parents shouting my name out. lol.

needless 2 say i couldn't move my eyes from the tv until the last notes of 'gett off' had died away. by the time i got 2 my parents the cat had left out of it's own accord and i got told off by my parents 4 being more interested in the tv than them.

i didn't know how was i supposed 2 explain 2 them that i had just heard a song called 'gett off' and that it had totally blown me away. so i just said sorry and spent the rest of the holiday thinking about that song. that moment sparked my purple obsession.
