The Beautiful Experience Medley is a medley of all the different versions of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World from the Beautiful Experience maxi CD-single. Interactive and Days of Wild are the opening tracks from the March configuration of The Gold Experience, including the NPG Operator segues.
Now, Acknowledge Me, 319 and Pheromone are the same as the released versions.

The Now boot contains: Interactive, Days Of Wild, The Beautiful Experience Medley, Now, Acknowledge Me, 319, Pheromone, MPLS and The Ryde Dyvine. It's a nice collection. When it came out back in '94 I heard it a lot and still do, occassionally.

can still hear the opening held synth notes of space as it fades out. It's very very close to the
version on the 11th March test pressing, just a little rawer sounding and the drums sound a
bit dry.

Chaos And Disorder (4:11) - early mix. Notable differences: all the samples and sound effects
are much higher in the mix (there's also a few included that didn't make the final version). The
tamborine is more noticable throughout, and the drums have more reverb on them than on the
final mix. Also more noticable are Mayte's backing vocals, and there's no Rosie Gaines on the
track at all. As the outro heartbeat finishes you can just hear the "Listen to the R..." intro to
'The Rhythm Of Your Heart' start up (sung by Prince).

Right The Wrong (4:40) - early mix. slightly different arrangement. The drumming sounds
more pronounced, and horns to the fore (doesn't quite sound so 'country'). As it finishes you
can just hear the Boni sample from the beginning of 'Acknowledge Me' start up.

Gold (7:36) - early mix, more basic sounding. Lacks a lot of the backing vocals and a lot of
the secondary keyboard parts, also lacks the 'epic' sound of the finished version (the drums
are very dry and simple). There's no NPG Operator over the ending.

It's also worth noting that all the pre-Dawn versions of 'Come' are allegedly merely untitled
collections of current tracks, and were not intended as album configurations (hmmm...
despite the fact that they DO flow very well as album sequences, AND are not that far removed
from the finally released version's running order).

Interesting point, and to be honest I don't know for sure. They're certainly not listed, but I
suspect that they were included, as I've yet to hear a version of Billy Jack Bitch without it. Also,
I forgot to mention that Eye Hate U is circulating too. It's very similar to the final version, but
the drums sound dryer and weaker. plus it doesn't segue into that final NPG Operator bit with
all the vari-speeded "Welcome 2 The Dawn"s. But it DOES still include the NPG Operator over
the intro to the track.



They're just "circulating" at the moment (as is the wishes of the person that "freed" them.

I'd also say a more accurate track timing for the first 'Come' cassette sequence from April '93
would be as follows...

1. Come (4:44)
2. Endorphin Machine (3:51)
3. Space (5:32)
4. Pheromone (4:22)
5. Loose (3:22)
6. Papa (2:47)
7. Dark (6:26)
8. Dolphin (6:27)

I am also more than 100% sure that a while ago a handwritten tracklist for a very
early version of "Gold" ended up for sale on Ebay.

It contained "Lovesign", a track I haven't seen mentioned on this thread yet,
eventho it was a song that got quite a bit more attention from Prince than a
lot of the other tracks.

A promo single was made with many different versions, a video was made and
he even alluded to it several times as one of the songs that really flared up his
fight with Warners.

"I wrote this song about gun controll and wanted to release it as the next
single but Warners just laughed at it" -or something like that.

To me, some of the lyrics on "Face Down" allude to that once again. It seems
he got quite pissed off about Warners laughing off some of his better songs
from that period.

Just like they laughed when he played them "Exodus" and told him there was
no way in hell they would release a silly album like that.

Regarding Lovesign, it IS possible that there were a configuration of The Gold Experience between the March and September/October-configurations that may have included Lovesign and POSSIBLY - but unlikely - other newly recorded tracks like Mad and Funky Design. But I haven't personally seen, read or heard anything to confirm this.

Yes, did indeed have a Lovesign EP produced, but he didn't make any of the remixes himself, which is why I haven't included it on the list.

told the story regarding Lovesign to Q Magazine while in London in 1995. He wanted to release it independantly of Warners as an anti-firearms benefit single: "I said (to Warners), OK, listen, there are people shooting and killing each other in the 'hood, and I think I can do something about it, and put some money in, and maybe that would be more important than what's in your Billboard chart this week. They said no. They can't look beyond what's in Billboard."
