I gotta say Parade, it's still one of my top 3 Prince records.

I didn't get into Prince till 1991, through my sister who had become a fan earlier in the year, and I was soaking in all the videos and albums she had, which were limited to D&P, SOTT, PR, Parade and Lovesexy.

She jumped off the band-wagon shortly after the name change fiasco, where as I grabbed the reigns tighter.

1999 - I was such a little kid when it came out, but it made me fall in love.

I had always listened to and dug his albums from the beginning, and from Dirty Mind onward he seperated himself from everyone else.

BUT it was none other than 1999 that cemented the fact to me that he was gonna be truly special. This was my attachment.

Hate to be obvious, but PURPLE RAIN.

I'd had flirtations with his music in the past, but the first time I heard the end of "Let's Go Crazy" on TV, it was all over for me. nod

Became a fan when I was 7. Stayed loyal ever since.
First song I heard was Daddy Pop from D&P - I really liked it. Went back to my bro's flat and watched the Hits Video got hooked. First Album I got was The Hits // The B-Sides Box Set only reason was cause it was an album my Dad had bought (he's into all the Greatest of... blah blah) the first album I bought was 1999 and that got me hooked.

The Gold Experience, 1995. I was just starting college and seriously getting into REAL music. I always liked Prince because my older sister played the hell out of PR and ATWIAD. However, I didn't really get into Prince until I heard the his version of Shhh and the all time classic, I Hate U. I purchased TGE and I was floored. It was like nothing I had heard before; loud, raw, soulful, sensual, and passionate, all on one disc of music. After that I was hooked for life and I worked my way through his back catalog.

I had seen Prince and liked the 1999 album when it came out and saw Purple Rain and sort of followed him. But my re-discovery occurred in the mid-90's with prince and Graffiti Bridge when I became deeply attached and quickly gathered a whole collection of his work.

Even though I was rather young and scared of the song 1999, I guess it would have to be the 1999 album

As hard as it is for me to admit...Batman...

I remember loving it...I was like 5 years old.

then...several years passed...and I found Dirty Mind. Blew my mind. So, I would say DM actually got me hooked.

"New Power Soul"!!! That record is THE TITS!

Okay, just kidding...for me, it was probably D&P...not one of my favorites now, but that's what got me interested.....
